This is why I'm a big H.P. Lovecraft fan. The horror of the unknown grips my gut far more than gruesome depictions or descriptions. I think we all surprise ourselve with what we conjure in our own minds when we are left to visualize or imagine the real horror with what's already in our heads.

I haven't read any Mieville, but love Haruki Murakami. I've heard and read (here, actually) that their styles are similar. China, I'll give you a go.

Does anyone else just NOT feel great about Ryan Reynolds getting all these parts? I think he's hilarious and does great with certain roles, but couldn't someone less sarcastic, less mainstream and more badass in general do a much more fantastic GL???
