Here’s the big difference between the two of us: you were having fun and I wasn’t. It doesn’t matter how many things were in the game were “competent” because, at the end of the day, most of that content was a slog for me.

Well that’s just bullshit. Sure it had a rocky development, and didn’t quite live up to the original trilogy, but you have to admit that aside from the animation issues the game had its own charms. You really felt like an explorer out there dealing with an alien race in uncharted space, building a new alliance with…
As one of the people who bought the game on release day I never understood the hate for it.
I think it did a much better job than ME:1 in introducing a new storyline. It took me a while to get used to the new characters but after giving them a genuine chance I loved what the team tried to do.
It was an uphill battle…
I hate the trend with triple A games, that falling short of a metacritic arbitrary score goal essential sacks the developers.
Agreed, Andromeda is my second-favourite ME game (behind 3), and the “fans” basically killed any hopes I had for getting a follow-up adventure with Peebee and Drack and Suvi and Jaal and Kallo... -sigh-
Thank you so much. Gamers killed Mass Effect. I played and beat Andromeda from day 1 release. Its animation issues were a little quirky and sometimes annoying, but it was a solid game through-and-through with a decent story and characters.
100 percent agree. i owned it day 1 on pc. it had its quirks but yeah, the outrage and temper tantrums people seemed to be throwing completely hindered this game’s reception. the worst part was the things that were wrong, would ordinarily have been fixed before launch, but EA who owns Bioware forced them to launch it…
Bioware doesn’t do season passes as a matter of studio policy. No previous Mass Effect (or Dragon Age) game had a season pass, either.
Woah, fuck that! Andromeda wasn’t the magnum opus that a lot of gamers were expecting (because apparently gamers as a whole never learn, even after the No Man’s Sky hype-train debacle), but it was still a good game and there’s a lot of loose ends left to be wrapped up god dammit! Don’t just abandon it, get some people…
I’m a man of my word, even to an audience that doesn’t give a shit about it.
Yeah, Andromeda was not nearly as bad as people made it out to be. It was stunningly beautiful and the combat was amazing. Fucking gamers and their psychotic delusional self-entitlement. I’m entirely sick of their insane fucking tantrums.
There’s a ton of downside. I love this game too, but I can totally see people not really getting engrossed in the story, not enjoying the animations, even now, and really not having that emotional connection with the characters as with the last series.
I haven’t beaten it yet and while I certainly have criticisms of it, it’s nothing like the scale people complained about. It’s Mass Effect, I can’t really imagine someone who enjoyed 1-3 coming into Andromeda and hating it.
This really sucks. I really enjoyed Andromeda. It’s one of my favorites from this year. But I guess the romance and conversations were my most hated parts of the game (I’m sorry but since ME1 the series has been so fucking badly written, awkward, nerdy, and basically just like really fucking weird and sociopathic that…
It’s sad to see a decent game just die cause of animation memes.
I blame the mismanagement, but I also blame the gamers.
Its a shame, while MEA had problems it was still solid scifi action game. It would be nice if they would continue to update the games graphics and fix the problems, I know its unlikely but one can dream
The worst part of all of this is that Andromeda isn’t even really a bad game. It’s not as good as the original trilogy and it has problems that should have been fixed before launch, but it’s still better than 80% of what’s out there on the market. Expectations were impossibly high.
I played this game for 60 hours and enjoyed my time with it. There were some launch issues and jank but I’m surprised at the public reaction.
You’re 100% right Hillary didnt lose because of Robby Mook or some tactical mistake. She lost because she was a Democrat. Obama was able to win in 2012 through sheer charisma. No one actually likes Democratic policies, they just don’t want to be killed by Republican ones (which is why they only win nationally after…
