Weird, I feel I'm exactly in the target market for these series about rock'n'roll and the music business and life, and am really bummed that all three of these recent series (well I' haven't seen this one yet, but judging by this review and the comments) just suck! VInyl was a guilty pleasure at *best* and I had

Makes me wish I'd given this show more of a chance, sounds like it ended up pretty good. I'm in the category of those who checked it out at the beginning and just was not hooked, like another commenter said, too networky, too sitcommy, just nothing especially special about it in its earlier incarnation.

Love your dis of Burnett, I'm with you, always found her show unwatchable, but I'll go you one further, I think Lucy is way overrated too, could never *stand* "I Love Lucy." Sorry, way too broad for me. In my eyes, the Dick Van Dyke show was the first sitcom that was any good or funny at all (and it was world-class,

One of my top favorite current standups along with Louis C.K. and Jim Jefferies.

House of Cards? Lady Dynamite? Love? Master of None? Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Bojack Horseman? Arrested Development? Nuthin'? Plus they have an awful lot of fantastic stand-up specials, Jim Jefferies, Bill Burr, Louis C.K., Bob Kelly, Gary Gullman.

Just such a classic, important, show, way ahead of its time, and so funny.

It's a good song but is actually from Paul's well-received album of a few years previous, Tug of War. The version on the movie soundtrack album is a re-recording of the song as are most of the other tracks, recuts of Beatles and Wings songs.

The movie, yes, and the really ill-conceived cover versions of Beatles and Wings tracks on the soundtrack album. BUT, the tiny smattering of new original songs on that album, were all GREAT for my money, the pretty-much-forgotten hit power ballad "No More Lonely Nights" (great lead guitar from David Gilmore), and two

I saw Denny and his current band (who knew?) play about two months ago in a tiny dive bar here on Long Island, with almost nobody there, as part of an all-day lineup of bands, some kind of fundraising event. The club management shuffled him offstage to get the next band up before he finished his planned set, and then

Some of you guys don't seem to be familiar with another little cringe-comedy masterpiece called "Extras." I'll admit/agree that since *that*, Ricky G. hasn't done anything great, but man, the combination of The Office and Extras certainly earns him a lifetime pass for me. And this trailer had me squirm/laughing very

Between Curb and now this, this has been a wonderful day for the near future of tv comedy.

I want to mention that when I saw a Facebook post with this news today, it was the first time I was ever used to move FB's recently added "love" button.

I've often made a similar observation (to Lori Ann's about coasters), but about rock concerts, that they're one of the few situations where you can have the very gratifying, cathartic experience of screaming your head off and no one looks askance

Just the name "Splett" kills.

So bland.

Are you as surprised as me to find out she's still alive?

Just want to mention as I read through this exchange that I don't know what yiff means.

Enjoyed that - unsurprisingly Louie is hilarious even in his straight-man role. His throwaway line "Ww wrote the book, Whose name is on the book?" might have been the funniest part.

One gripe, Boyle is supposed to be a smart good detective, so it was crazy the way he left his phone on display there for anyone to see, ringer on, not accounting for the fact that he might get a call from his girlfriend (or really any call) which would mess up his operation with Maura.

A great line indeed, but you bungled quoting it: an *airport* paperback.
