Well yeah, Cobra Kai is WAY more realistic. HotD and RoP have elves, dwarves, dragons, magic, castles, Saurons(maybe?), hobbits, court intrigue, etc... People can’t get invested in that kind of thing because they never see them in real life.

That’s definitely the case. When you text someone, your own name doesn’t generally show up on the screen. And what unidentified person would the big bad be texting it to?

The thing about The Whisperers is that they showed our heroes how to easily control zombies, SO WHY DON’T THEY???

Last season - or the first 1/3 of this season or whatever they’re calling was surprisingly good. Mrs. F. and I would agree after each episode that, “Hey, that wasn’t so bad; actually pretty good.”

If we could get a fresh blood new round of commenters around here, avatars like “Harold Stern Show” and “Zendaya’s Mom” are right there for the picking.

Ok... but some of us are 30 and have been watching the MCU since high school. We’re allowed to dislike the vibe of a character that was seemingly created to check off every box in the definition of “bimbo” and is basically a rip-off of Tynnyfer from Parks & Rec: “The worst person I’ve ever met.”

The MCU is setting the bar really really low with the shows and recent movies.

There’s a rich lineage of beloved TV characters that, if you were in a room with them IRL, would make you tear out your own eyes just for something to plug your ears with.

This site just gets more and more depressing, lazy, and awkward. These days I think the only thing that brings me back to the AV Club is muscle memory.

Tbf DC stands for Detective Comics. Last I checked detectives tend to investigate crime scenes. The Flash, Batwoman, Superman & Lois, etc those are all DC characters. They don’t need to toss the baby out with the bath water just change the water (direction of a show’s plotting *) and keep the baby(keep the show).
