I can’t be the only one seeing this, right? Are we sure this is not a Dragon Ball tie-in? Berry Blue and Sunset Orange, my ass! They’re Frieza Blue and Goku Orange.
You can keep looking, Kotaku, and please let me know if you find anything.
Hold up, were there underage geishas in Yakuza Kenzan? It seems like an ordinary Yakuza-fied Miyamoto Musashi story?
Yakuza 1 and 2 were released during the PS2 era, during the time Microsoft got exclusivity to Shenmue II, developed by what would be the Yakuza dev team. Could it be that the tepid commercial performance of Shenmue II is what made them dismiss Yakuza?
This just keeps getting worse and worse... so three so far, I want to see more. His career is over, I don’t think he can work as a game reviewer anymore.
That’s not the point. With more money to be made on consoles, PC is not a priority to most developers. GTAV took how long before it came to PC? The original RDR was never even released on PC.
But it’s not just Rockstar. In the past 4 years, Ubisoft makes 35%-40% of their profit off PS4, 55%-60% off both PS4 and Xbone combined, and less than 20% off PC. This is Ubisoft, a publisher who regularly releas their games simultaneously on all platforms:
Again... no PC. Consoles are really where the money’s at. Is video game piracy and rampant steam discounts really killing the PC game business? To a lot of publishers, PC release is like an afterthought.
That’s the only method to do it. You copy and mirror all 3D objects you want reflected.
When it comes to game graphics, mirrors are one the worst. The way mirror reflection works in games is by copying the entire polygon models that are reflected, doubling the polygon count. This is why only select mirrors actually reflect objects in video games, they are polygon expensive to make.
I hate it when people say game graphics couldn’t get any better. Wrong! wrong! wrong!
Photo mode + PlayStation’s superb graphics =
While we’re on the subject, it’s not exactly plagiarism, but this whole thing reminds me of Stephen Glass. A young New Republic journalist who fabricated his articles, there’s a great 2003 movie about him starring Hayden Christensen. Christensen got so much shit for playing Anakin, but in-between the two prequels, he…
I read about this earlier today on Resetera forum, apparently the dead giveaway for the plagiarism is that the Boomstick guy describes the wrong timed door mechanic in the review, and the IGN guy not realizing this mistake, just copied it, describing the same mistake?
Eh? Indonesia got second place? I’m curious to see what my countrymen looks like.
I waited 7 years for the game to come out on the Vita. It took what? 6 months to come out on the Switch? This isn’t fair!!
It’s a bit vague and pretentious. But overall the entire story is dark and depressing, tragic and emotionally draining for game with cute graphics.
BTW... Just how beautiful is this balletic of death of a game, from Sunhilegend:
