Idiot.
Idiot.
Dude, that's one of the reasons WHY this structure works...
The best games to start with are either the Persona series, or Strange Journey for the DS (which plays like the more hardcore titles, but with a more forgiving difficulty)
I second this - having started on TA2: Grimoire Of The Rift on DS, the original FFT was a massive ball-buster when I first tried to play it. Right now it's in my pile of games to play soon...
Haha we are a dying breed! :P I got into the series with Strange Journey on the DS (impulse buy from Amazon a couple of years back), and since then I've been playing as many SMT games as I could find. I was a massive JRPG fan to start with (ever since I played the FF III remake on the DS), so pretty much every aspect…
'Strategic ability' is probably more fitting, but that aside I can't see anything objectively wrong with it :L
Strange Journey isn't a pain in the butt - provided you pay attention to the clues around you, and utilise the demon fusion (which, conveniently, can be done anywhere in the game), the game's difficulty is very manageable IMO.
Randomized encounter responses would be a new one for the series - in previous entries, the conversation answers varied by demon species, but certainly weren't randomised...
I'm with you - I'd rather have to fuse and strategise to win than just coast through. Granted, I only got into the series with SMT: Strange Journey on the DS (which I imported from the USA) which isn't monstrously difficult, but it's certainly not as easy as the later Persona games. I've since also played the original…
Ghostlight are bringing the second game over soon - why import when you can support a publisher who is willing to bring these games to us?
EA already do this, and then slaughter the devs' franchises *cough*FIREMINT, REAL RACING*cough*
Ah fair enough, my bad for missing the joke :L
None of the numbered FF games have connected storylines, so you can start pretty much anywhere. Personally, I'd recommend starting with FF X on the PS2 (or wait for it's rerelease on PS3 and Vita in a few months) because it has one of the best FF storylines, and the most forgiving/novice-friendly battle system of any…
Ghost Trick - man, I welled up in the final cutscenes!!
FF IV has already been remade for the DS, ported to iOS, and a collection including FF IV, FF IV: The After Years, and an interlude adventure was released for the PSP in 2011 - the chances of another FF IV remake are slim to none. FF VI, however, is long overdue a remake
It's going to be a new social/mobile game, I'm calling it.
All they need to do is announce FF Type-0 has got a western release and I'll be happy - I don't care if it's only a Vita release, I don't care if it's UMD or PSN-only, I don't care if I have to buy an extortionately-priced collector's edition to get my hands on it, I just want to be able to buy and play the game!!
Mandatory Kinect + persistent online requirement + used games being blocked = core gamers/early adopters not buying Xbox One
The Wii U becomes profitable provided that every person who buys one buys at least 1 game - who exactly do you know who would buy a brand new console and then not bother to buy games for it?
We can't mention beautiful opening stages without talking about Chrono Trigger's Millenial Fair, right?
