If MonolithSoft were able to make Xenoblade Chronicles (which epitomised big, pretty, open and free) on the Wii, then any dev prepared to put in the effort can produce great-looking games on the Wii U!

...and because they've taken the plunge, developers will (hopefully) make good games for it, which will give people like you an excuse to buy one ;P
Does anyone know the name of the song that's the background music in this trailer? I really like it...
Okami
I think the difference is that this has big names behind it - Yves Behar has created things like the Jambox and Jawbone, and Julie Uhrman, as an ex-IGN employee, has knowledge of the games industry, and how to successfully navigate it.
Whether they did or didn't, the kickstarter has proven to be a great move for them. I really hope they have success with the OUYA, because not only will I be buying one, but I really like the idea of it, and the principles and ethos behind it.
Well that's down to personal taste I guess. For me, Mario Land 3D was one of the best games I've played on any handheld. More recently, Kid Icarus: Uprising was very good. And Square Enix's games are starting to filter through - Theatrhythm, Heroes Of Ruin, KH: Dream Drop Distance and (hopefully) Bravely Default. The…
They have already done most of the work using money from so-called 'angel investors' - the $950,000 they want from the Kickstarter is just the last bit they need to get the project off the ground and into people's hands...
As it stands, they have their own marketplace on the device. But I (and, I assume, lots of other people) am hoping that there will be some form of Steam integration.
+1
*cough* $600K in less than 24 hours *cough*
...But then when you compare it to it's competitors - namely 3DS, iPhone and misc. smartphones - it really has FA in the way of games.
If you were paying any attention, they are actively looking for people to hack and root the console. However, anyone who does is denied access from OUYA's 'app store'. So you either hack and do your own shit with the console, or you play nice and use their 'app store'. The two don't happen simultaneously on the same…
Sounds a bit like games on iOS, no? And look how well they're doing! Plus the F2P model means people can avoid the shovelware without having to pay a penny.
As of 7PM GMT on 1oth July this has already recieved over $400000 of it's target amount. I really hope this does well, because I'm enamoured by the ethos and ideas behind it. Certainly I'll be a day one adopter!
I might do that. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to manga - I only started reading it a few months back when one of my friends introduced me to 'Deathnote', so I'd be interested in reading some work from other artists...
I've never seen the manga, so I have even less reason to waste my hard-earned money on this game. I agree with your description, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Based on the game trailer, I agree. The game just looks dull.
Nope - what's racist is when someone thinks black/coloured person + chains = slavery WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Nobody was thinking about slavery, nobody was trying to implicate that the woman in the picture was a slave. There was no need to pull the racism card - and every time someone shouts 'racism' and is unjustified in…
Square Enix have tried to do this with games like FFIV: The After Years and, more recently, Final Fantasy Dimensions. The problem is the way that they're marketed. When square released The After Years on WiiWare, it was sold in such a way that people were tricked into believing that the whole game could be bought for…
