Number 9 demonstrates exactly why I get frustrated with american recipes! Why are you using a volumetric scale for measuring DRY ingredients?

Very nice, I wonder if he worked by eye or used photoshop to isolate layers of colour and create cutting templates.

I'm shortsighted and rely on the fact that optical viewfinders on (D)SLRs have a diopter correction dial. I'm stuffed without it for 2 reasons; The "head up" display etched into the viewfinder would otherwise appear out of focus to me, and when focusing the lens what appears to me to be in focus is in fact out of

Like TheFu says, you probably have too many primary partitions. Try setting your swap space as an extended partition, no real need for it to be a primary (I don't think!)

Seeing Myriad Pro in any corporate ID always screams "rushed" to me ... because it's the default font in Adobe Illustrator! Sometimes it's the right font for the job but after years of immediately changing the font FROM Myriad out of necessity I can't help but view it in that way!

I still prefer Pale Blue Dot in all it's grainy goodness!

Are you freakin' kidding?

I actually came across (almost) exactly the same dilemma at my office. I found that the Synergy setup file could be run as a limited user, as long as the install location was writable by the user. When you're prompted for a installation location when you run the synergy setup, just change it from 'C:\program

This is what I did for my desk. I needed a desk flush to the wall but there was a silly right angle protrusion in the corner of the room which needed cutting around. Basic 3 step process:

I use a moka pot at the weekends when I can be bothered with it and the french press through the week.

Up until about 6 months ago I'd have said get yourself an olympus E420 or E450. Very reasonably priced and has all the features you need to learn about if you're getting into photography. Now however I'd say get a canon!

I've only managed to get this to work once (and tried countless other times), and yes, you need to add ?.jpg to every URL, which means copying and pasting links, not just clicking them! I've heard of a javascript bookmarklet that handles it for you but haven't bothered trying it.

I haven't really used it so can't really pass judgement on it. But I'm going to anyway:

I really don't want to be doing this all night...

A fair point, and well made ... I'll choose to ignore the (unprovoked) personal attack you snuck in at the end there!

No, no factory, but this man clearly does this all day every day. He produces a large quantity that look on the whole the same. I originally meant it more as a metaphor but I suppose really it's quite an acceptable use of the term.

As a designer by trade and a graduate in illustration, I am aware of the various answers to the great question "what defines art?". I certainly do not hold the view "if I like it's art, if I don't, it's not".

Well maybe he can. If so I'd much prefer to see his "real" work in an exhibit, instead of being performed as a parlour trick.

I totally agree with this. These paintings are not art, they're mass produced to cater for dumb tourists!
