Has your friend’s dog become the focus of everyone’s attention, even though there are maybe five things you can say about or to a dog before you want to cut off your own arm?

“These so-called heroes are nothing but vigilantes claiming they’re above the law! Who will WATCH these MEN?” *looks at camera*
I hated the V adaptation- the Wakoffski siblings did not get the source material at all. But in a way, Watchmen was worse- it bored me.
If that same photog took a picture of her in rags, these very same douchecanoes would be mocking her or criticizing her for not meeting “expected standards for a lawmaker” or whatever. The whole thing is a farce. Drop-kick these people into the goddamn sun.
When I was in sixth grade, I was singled out by the kids in my class for bullying, on the grounds that I wore Reebok sneakers matched with Nike socks. It stopped when one of the kids reached down to try and pull up my pants and see what my socks looked like, only for me to try and kick him in the face.
Everyone is picky about their street parking in a densely packed urban area. For many of them, it’s the only place they have to park their car.
Come to downtown Denver where half the homes don’t have a parking spot or driveway and by 6PM, finding street parking within a half mile of your own home is a nightmare. You’ll…
I rented via Turo from someone like this in the Bay Area, who had something like 20 cars on Turo under his and his wife’s names. All are owned by an LLC, and they have some sort of fleet insurance policy. I actually asked him specifically about parking, and he avoids street parking almost completely. He said they keep…
These are people who think you need voter ID to buy cereal.
This is what we call an infraction of the intent or spirit of law. When I worked for the city we would get constant complaints about these things (that job sucked by the way so please be nice to city employees even when they aren’t nice to you). The spirit of allowing free street parking in front of your house is so…
I used to live in that neighborhood, even without him parking was atrocious. Most of those buildings are 100 years old with no parking. We paid for off-street parking just so we wouldn’t have to deal with it. During the middle of the day, it may not be terrible because everyone is at work. Overnight and weekends were…
“Plenty of parking” my left nut. I can’t think of any Chicago neighborhood where there is enough room for the residents cars plus 38 more.
I ran out of data on my phone a while back. Was downtown, and needed to check the transit website to download the bus schedule. I go in front of Dunkin. But the signal outside was too weak, forcing me to go inside. I asked for the manager (White lady). Explained my predicament, asked if it was ok to sit down and use…
If she’s been a loyal customer where she’s obtained Norm status, why didn’t one of the employees step up to say boss she’s a regular??? That would have put a lid on the whole situation. Companies thrive on repeat business and you NEVER crap on your repeat customers.
Can you confirm the address on the Dunkin? There’s like six in Fairfax, and I’m just curious which one it is. It would be very interesting if it’s the one on GMU campus, given the number of college kids that spend 2-4 hours there on any given night using the free wifi.
To the other commenters, where did they act like they cured inequality? They proved a point and people, like local news, took notice. That’s like step #1 of deconstructing white supremacy - using your privilege to not only acknowledge it exists but also right the wrongs it produced.
I see this divergence around what’s…
Cute generalization, but if you hung around a while you’d know that feminists are quite divided on the subject of porn, and have been for a long, long time. It’s not hypocrisy, it’s more than one voice.
When my brother hosts his wife’s extended family and ours, her sister-in-law will make a few dishes. She’s not a bad cook overall, but she has certain blindspots. Anytime she makes one of her mother’s recipes, everyone can tell. She makes a sausage stuffing at Thanksgiving, but DOES NOT BROWN THE MEAT FIRST. She…
My grandparents did that kind of thing, and it sort of rubbed off on my dad, but they were very much products of the Great Depression in a lot of ways. I suppose when your food sources can be questionable at best you learn very quickly to boil, bake, and cook the hell out of everything just in case.
You should have served everyone who wanted it properly cooked and fried hers in a pan really quick.
“Well, I won’t eat it. It needs to go back in the oven for at least another 40 minutes.”
