Actually mentioned this in another reply, but thinking about it more, wouldn’t a tax credit for mothers be a pretty good solution to the motherhood gap? (in conjunction with subsidized or free childcare, maternity+paternity leave etc.).
This is really a problem that needs tackling from multiple angles, including from a Government subsidy solution.
I replied below already, but just wanted to note another Jalopnik article noting how Alcantara is difficult to clean and picks up oil stains.
hmm, well I don’t have any personal experience with it - so gonna have to take your word for it.
Didn’t know that, so if you spill like ketchup on it, you can just wipe it down with a wet rag?
Didn’t know that, good to know. So you can just wipe it down with a wet rag?
But it still retains all of the negatives of cloth seats, i.e. impossible to clean. And actually, I think, MORE difficult to clean.
Copying someone’s painting would be a false analogy. They’re not literally replicating Star Wars VI scenes.
a more honest comparison would be to recognize that having a specific visage in a movie is part of an artist’s (the director’s) artistic output as well.
I read through all your replies below, but just wanted to bring up that I don’t think there’s anything here that isn’t immunized by permission.
Yep, to clarify I still wouldn’t call it a “middle finger”. Seriously, despite all of the recent trends in hyping up Chefs, most of them are just doing a job, and even the “best” or most “famous” probably still don’t care that much.
The only way I can see this being an insult to the Chef is if you ask for a change to literally mask the original flavour of the dish (i.e. I’ll have the steak, but please substitute the pan sauce for A1 Steak sauce, or I’ll have the burrito, but instead of that salsa and guacamole, could you put ketchup and…
That’s what discovery is for.
Since you’re throwing Alice around, just want to say, there’s a decent chance it falls into the exception in Alice - as an improvement directed to solving a problem specific to computers.
I used LAPD cause the article cited them.
Deterrence - I’d say lack of any successful hijack attempt is still the strongest proof. The TSA does post frequent pictures of stuff they did catch.
Yes, some of them seem ripe for an Alice analysis. But yea, they probably picked one person who had “most” of the features in their patent portfolio - I’m sure their “crown jewels” so to speak, probably relate to their messaging apps, so Snap makes sense. Then since they’re there, and they’re using it as a test case,…
That’s the thing with prevention. The proof is in what did not happen.
