my coworker gave me her card when i went to pick up lunch and said to me “pay me with venmo” This was yesterday and I had no idea what she was talking about. Instead I asked the cashier to split our check, with she did in about 10 seconds on her micros and paid separately. Why must we make things more complicated??

I wonder if this is another dimension of people’s increasing inability to talk on the phone instead of sending IMs or texts, or to have face to face extended interactions that don’t involve long breaks to look at phone screens.
