Yeah, I’m sorry Michelle, but “when they go low we go high” doesn’t really work at this point in history because they appear to have infinite levels of low.

I’m not religious, but it’s at times like this, I truly hope Kavenaugh will rot in hell in his afterlife.

I actually think it’s a good picture to submit.  She looks wholesome and cute.  Avenatti has handled a lot of cases and he knows how juries think.

I don’t understand how any man with a wife, a girlfriend, or any desire to have one of those things can support this man. The fact that we are still even discussing this nomination is almost sickening. I certainly believe that the nominee deserves a fair investigation too, but the fact that they haven’t indefinitely

CALL IT OUT, dp4m. this is bullshit. I did the same thing. This man has shortcomings and I am suspicious of him, but goddamn it, he’s not stupid and he’d never lie about something this big that would ruin him. He knows how to fight the pigdog GOP and let’s face it, it works. They fear him and they should.

They can hate him being a media whore all they want. They can hate his talk about running for President all they want (personally I think he’s only saying it to get under Trump’s increasingly orange and/or thin skin.) But the man is a damn good lawyer. I’d be scared to be on the other side of the courtroom from him.

Yes, it’s one of the things that really struck me from the New Yorker piece—that Judge talked to his ex-girlfriend about getting girls drunk like this AND considered it consensual sex. The other was that the GOP members of the judiciary committee knew about the second accuser and was pushing through the confirmation.

He’s a huge blowhard, but he's a blowhard with receipts.

At this point I think we can call this “Classic” Avenatti.  Threaten something damning.  Give them a chance to clear the air (or more likely hang themselves.)  Then swing the hammer.

I used to be sad as a teen that I stayed home reading books and watching old movies on TCM. Now, thank god, and no one can beat me at movie trivia!

I know people rag Avenetti and for good reason, but he does seem to keep his ducks in a row when it comes to making accusations and taking clients. I’d bet he spends a LOT of time vetting claims from wackos and delusional types in general and nowadays it would be even more important. He picks one wrong client and it’s

Yeah, one of his exes said that Judge himself corroborated exactly what Swetnick is saying.

These are really important points. It means she’s taking an especially huge risk in coming forward. I wonder if the Clearance-Yanker In Chief will get involved.

This is discussed over on the Splinter thread, but just for anyone who didn’t see it:

Everyone PLEASE READ HER STATEMENT IN FULL. All the headlines give the impression that she said something vague in regards to Kavanaugh - that she was raped and Kavanaugh might have been nearby and maybe was grinding on a few girls at a party (which is how the Republicans WANT to categorize it). Read the statement in

Yeah, I pointed it out over on Splinter after their “Michael Avenatti Isn’t Helping” article the other day — that it certainly seems like he knew what was on the calendar and specifically timed Ms. Swetnick’s sworn statement and coming forward to coincide when the “leak” of the calendar — prominently featuring “Beach

I’m so glad she hired Avenatti. The only way to fight assholes is with an asshole. And my god Avenatti is an asshole. Go get ‘em girl.

There’s. NEVER. just. one.

Her statement is hard to read, and, importantly, incredibly specific and damning. She mentions other witnesses willing to speak, she’s worked in the government for years and holds multiple security clearances, and she submitted a sworn affidavit.

I want to throw up. I am so disgusted by everyone in the Republican party right now.
