I believe it operates as a pyramid scheme but you can also buy it directly buy it online, further screwing over the people on the lower end of the pyramid. Also, that shit is expensive!

I really don’t know; that shit is insidious. My (now former) sister in law had some credit card debt and her “friend” convinced her to take out another credit card (this one consigned by her MIL) so she could start selling Mary Kay and “get out of debt.” It ended up with my brother and sister in law nearly losing

Oh yeah, a girl I knew from college just posted that she had to meet her PC quota for the year so she was placing an order. I’m sure it’s great quality but the fact that there’s a yearly quota is a little shiesty to me.

It’s more the active recruiting that goes into any MLM that I find fucked up. You’re basically guilting your friends into buying from you and then encouraging them to spend more money to push it on more people (that you then get a cut of.) To me, it puts undue burden on friendships.

It’s the shittiest feeling and I genuinely wonder how people can feel good about themselves after that.

I feel like JamBerry was really popular a year ago and then everyone realized they were just very expensive stickers. But I doubt it’s $20k to get involved like LLR is...

I signed my daughter up for a singalong group and I met a mom I really liked. We became Facebook friends and literally the first thing she did was hit me up to buy BeautyCounyer products and send me a video on why i should sell it. I switched to the earlier singalong group because it made me so uncomfortable.

They don’t really care about women, they just want validation on their theory that all liberals are perverts who hate America. I’m more shocked when they praise Robert Osborne and Ben Mankewicz while simultaneously bashing homosexuals and liberals.

I wish someone would write an article about the new wave MLMs that target mom. Every mom I know now sells something (LulaRoe, Scentsy, Norwex, Pampered Chef), the shit just goes on and on.

I’m a mom and there are a few sacrifices I’ve made to becoming a mom (no long earrings that can be ripped out of my ears) but I will go to Sears and buy elasticated jeans before I pay $50 for hideous leggings.

I find it really interesting how Republicans are grabbing on to this Weinstein/ all the sexual assault stories to come out in the past few weeks. It’s like this all somehow validates their theories about “Hollyweird” but they all have this nostalgia for old movies.

I’ve done Holland America (around South America), Celebrity (the Baltic and Asia) and Azamara (a different part of Asia). Azamara is $$$, our friend is a travel agent and she got us a very nice discount. Holland America is fine if you’re okay traveling with the elderly. They do a lot of longer voyages so they cater to

As a WOC, I’m not comfortable hanging out on an island that’s devoid of people from the island. The only people on the island are people they import from other islands to serve the cruise ship passengers. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable.

Eh, I enjoy cruises but not the Carnival/Royal Caribbean drink until you puke cruises. I like being able to chill out and read my book on a rocking boat with a boozy drink next to me. Or going to a history lecture about the ports we’re visiting.

Rich, I had a completely different take than you did. I found the tone of the article to be really snarky and condescending, in a way that I didn’t think Sam Smith deserved. It didn’t seem like Taffy Brodesser Akner was celebrating or making excuses for him; it seemed like she was mocking his fragility. After I read

Episode 7 was terrible but the rest of it was amazing!

Adding touch screens to a museum seems incredibly gross to me. My daughter is in daycare and those kids are just filthy. The idea of touching a screen that’s been touched by so many schoolchildren before you, just that day, is insane to me.

It’s also fairly shady the way they announced it, with such short notice.

This is bullshit. It made you feel like you were in the middle of the Earth, looking at the gems in their natural habitat. Why are they making it look like a freaking Apple Store?

Coherency is valued as is logic and reason. You possess none of these things.
