By all accounts, Tobias Ellwood behaved bravely today. If I recall correctly, his brother died in the Bali terror attack.

The episode where she made him dinner and presented him with the boudoir photo book was hilarious. Mainly because he looked at her like he’d never seen her do anything like that before.
Plus side, with them and their kids leaving, the chances of a whooping cough or measles outbreak in Chicago have lessened!
I doubt it was the first time they heard the story. You also don’t want to stress a victim out even more by reacting to it in a severe way. When a friend of mine was raped and described it in graphic detail, I was nauseous the whole time and shocked but I kept a neutral face on so as not to terrify her more.
I can’t really think of an American equivalent to Vera Lynn. I guess Betty Grable but she wasn’t as intensely beloved by men and women as Dame Vera Lynn. It’s a little sad but I always think of her as the music of nursing homes. My great aunts both ended up in nursing homes, about 2 decades apart, and going to visit…
I really do appreciate all the advice, there’s such a wealth and breadth of knowledge here that I find it incredibly helpful. I also feel crazy that I’m so convinced that something else is wrong with her and her doctor keeps brushing it off.
I was thinking about asking for a referral to a pulmonologist since she has COPD and asking them to check out her heart. She had lung cancer several years ago so I’m wondering if maybe it’s back but I imagine that would have shown up on her chest X-ray, no?
I just ordered some, thanks. Part of the problem is that she refuses to take any medication so I crush up her pills and sprinkle them in her coffee (in the morning) or in her dinner (at night.)
We’ve looked into it and it’s expensive. Like prohibitively so. I feel like I’m just at the end of my rope and no one seems to care or be able to do anything besides say “I’m sorry, this sucks.” Which, when coming from internet strangers, I appreciate. When it comes from doctors and nurses, who do have the power to do…
I’ve thought about taking her to the ER but she refuses to go. Taking her to the doctor is hard enough, she throws fits and storms out. They checked her kidney values and said they’re fine. The only thing they found was diabetes and even that wasn’t bad enough to warrant medication. The hospital she goes to is one of…
Yep, they prescribed Lasix for the fluid. I’m terrified because she’s already completely incontinent. When we got home from work on Wednesday, she got up, walked over to the baby gate and just started peeing while saying “At least it’s not raining.”
I told my best friend 10 minutes after I got the positive pregnancy test. I told my siblings at 8 weeks but other than that, we slowly started telling people after 12. We waited until 18 weeks to put anything on social media. I kind of wished we had waited until 20 weeks. Everything was fine but I was super paranoid.
I need to vent. I’ve posted here before about my mother, who has early onset Alzheimer’s. She’s clearly gotten weaker, even over the past 4 months. She’s gained 40lbs in 6 months, her extremities are hugely swollen (her feet are like nothing I’ve ever seen betore). She can barely walk a block and even at rest, she…
I was thinking the same thing. I can’t imagine Noel Fielding baking a cake, let alone helping someone. I feel like he’d go off on an esoteric soliloquy about the chemistry of cake baking rather than help.
If Ian hadn’t been such a douche, I would have been more upset about the Baked Alaska Affair. But he was a turd so I was ok with Diana leaving the door open.
I’m worse. I have British citizenship and just laughed my ass off in the waiting room of a memory clinic...
The bit he did with ZsaZsa Gabor was so mean spirited and nasty. He kept making jokes about how she was fat, old and a slut and she just smiled, clearly uncomfortable.
That makes sense. The initial reports were that he gained quite a bit of weight after 2 knee replacements and didn’t want to make people think that if he couldn’t keep the weight off, neither could they.
I just made pasta e fagioli and we're getting at least three lunches out of it. Also, I make this turkey pumpkin chili (http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/10/crockpot-turkey-white-bean-pumpkin.html) all the time and I never get tired of it. It's for a crock pot but you can follow the directions and leave it simmering on…
