Honestly, should be happy with what you have. That said, there is no reason that companies who make horrific amounts of money to pull crap like this.

The 'regulations' mentioned were overturned by the Federal government. There is no hard cap on bandwidth so access to smaller companies with unlimited bandwidth is still an option. With Rogers I pay $56 for 70GB of bandwidth. A company called TekSavvy will charge me the same but give me unlimited use.
