“its straight-to-Netflix premise”
I’m seeing about 50/50 good and bad reviews so far, but for the most part the bad ones are only sort of bad, and the good ones are good to great.
“When people say they don’t want to bring politics into something, what they are really saying is that they want to maintain society’s status quo and pretend anything that is “other” doesn’t exist, or is too indecent to be acknowledged.”
Conspiracy theory: This was completely intentional. The movie NEVER ACTUALLY HAD this version of Sonic in it. They created it only for the poster and for this trailer to get attention.
Nah, keep Jim Carrey. It’s nice to see him in a role like this again. Otherwise, I agree.
By the time the poster was made, it would have been too late to make significant changes without incurring extra costs and possibly delaying the release date of the movie.
I actually liked Hop. It was one of the few movies that took a bizarre premise and ran with it. We need more of those.
There’s literally zero chance that they’re going to hint at a Smash Bros. movie combining those two. They’re being done by completely different companies.
Honestly, aside from Sonic’s design, which is kind of baffling, I think it looks like it could be pretty fun.
Nah, it would make a lot more sense for it be balancing things after Detective Pikachu.
Sam isn’t in the Hobbit movies...?
She’s supposedly still getting a standalone movie. Not sure how a prequel about her makes sense in terms of whatever overall arc the MCU is going to have post-Endgame, but it’s happening.
What if you intentionally bid an amount that would result in $6969 or something similar if you got it right? (Or wrong?)
“What is it with executives assuming we’re still clambering for another Men in Black movie??”

Are you a 30-year-old man with kids? The idea is probably to get parents who remember the show to take their kids to it since their kids might like it and they’ll at least have the nostalgia factor.
The actual interview relating to the smoking policy explicitly stated that having Fox would mean they *could* do things that they wouldn’t do under the Disney label now. I highly doubt anything will change with West Side Story. Not sure about The Simpsons given that they’re putting it on Disney Plus.
The article you cited cites another article which says nothing about the smoking policy other than that they didn’t want to make movies with smoking under the Disney label. It explicitly states that “With Fox, [they] can make movies that right now [they] say no to,” so it really doesn’t seem like this is an issue at…
They sold it back to Hulu itself, so it automatically got divided according to Disney and Comcast’s proportional ownership stakes. So Disney now has 67% and Comcast has 33%.
It’s sort of already a thing. VRV combines a bunch of small niche services into one for one much lower price.
