I wasn’t comparing Del Toro to Whedon.

The analogy is for the difference between Snyder and Whedon playing madlibs on the same movie (Justice League) in spite of having totally different styles, both visual and writing style alike (the same way Del Toro and the Russos have totally different styles).

I don’t believe they even really worked in reverse! They just took Marvel’s route, truncated it, and rushed it out the window while the chicken was still raw. (I say this as one of the few fans of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman).

It’s like if they did this:

Wow, at first I thought this was going to be a remake of the Fred Savage movie that just went in a completely unrecognisable direction

I have one!

I feel like I just had to say that because there are so few Vita-related things written about these days.

And also I have fond memories of the Vita coming out not long after I started reading Kotaku, like Kirk Hamilton and Leigh Anderson’s series of Final Fantasy letters during their replay (or was that

Does this mean she gets an automatic bonus/raise for getting top billing just like that, out of the blue?

I’m sorry that this person’s death inconvenienced this tweeter. I know it’s not the most pleasing thing to see on any morning commute. The rest of the world will try to not die in her direct path next time.

Soft-disagree on this one:

Most Peters in the multiverse are written as geniuses, so it makes sense that this Peter could catch on quickly as to what exactly was happening, and at least understand it scientifically enough to explain it to someone else later on.

Same with Miles, who is also portrayed as a genius, who

Yeah, but in New York we don’t leave our neighbourhoods. It would be ten seasons of them trying to survive in the East Village.

Our survivors each season gonna be like “Man, fuck Brooklyn. Who goes to Brooklyn? It’s more cramped here, and we’re running out of food, but it’s sooooo worth it.”

I know we’re all in the same choir, here, but yeah... still too soon for another Speedster to show up after Speedster villains and Speedster friends keep showing up.

You never change, CW. You never change! At least give us a couple years SHOWING (not telling) us that Barry really is the fastest man alive before you

*ahem*

Prepare the theatre for a ludicrous movie. Recline all seats. Seal all exits. Throw out all the popcorn! Cancel the preview trailers!

I’ve only seen the first ten minutes of it so far, but I think Once Upon A Deadpool is doing this gag. He bleeps/censors himself in the beginning because he acknowledges the limitations the PG-13 rating has

Right, but that’s a big “if” when the conversation is about a new adaptation.

We can’t expect a new adaptation to have those same rules in its world-building. Sometimes, yes. Maybe even often enough. But we sure as hell can’t (and shouldn’t) rely on it. They can do anything going forward, and we’ll never expect it.

Thes

For me, those are James [Gunn]’s films. Going into something like that with his stamp all over his films, would be like going into someone’s house and saying ‘Hey, I’m your new dad, and this is how we make peanut butter sandwiches now. It feels kind of awkward...

... but yeah I’m totally doing it.

Coincidentally, I’m currently reading “Wicca Made Easy” by Phyllis Curott. She explores the history of Wicca and basically explains that there was a several hundred-year period where there was a literal witch hunt. Lasted from about the 1400s till the late 1800s.

During that time, witches and witchcraft obviously

I didn’t mean for that to sound like I was being an ass. Sorry if it did!

I was trying to agree with you because I thought your comment about “but no, nextwave is never happening” was complete sarcasm!

So my comment was more directed at people (most people, it seems) that didn’t recognise the power of money flying

They said the same thing about Spider-Man, especially after the first Avengers movie released.

“AKSHUALLYYYYY, Sony owns Spider-Man so won’t be in the next Avengers, and he’ll never, EVER be in the MCU. I know this for a fact because they have film ownership and they’re never going to give it up, so stop dreaming!”

Wel

Out of furious loyalty to Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and the fam, I’m going to just call this movie “Presents: Hobbs and Shaw” and go enjoy the hell out of these two continuing their idiot bro-petition-mance  from Fast 8,

also, who’s the really hot woman. brb, gotta wiki these and start being infatuated.

Also, Idris Elba

Not going to lie... if they bring back Quicksilver and then going forward he has an ongoing arc with his sister (maybe on that possible streaming show they mentioned before?) and maybe with Hawkeye (please don’t die) as mentor/leader, that would be the best.

It can be a possibility since (as you said) they’re

Oh, nice. So, over there they understand this concept. I appreciate that.

Meanwhile, in the MCU...
Take note, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Thor: Ragnarok:
When you’re giving a eulogy or your home planet has just been blown up... tell Peter Quill and Korg to SHUT THE FUCK UP with the jokes and let us feel the gotdamn

Make the DEO into a villainous organization seems like it could really work and have Alex break away from them and join with J’onn again”
