As a man about to turn 35 this month, seeing this Simpsons post yesterday on io9 is what really hit me like an anvil that’s attached to an even bigger anvil falling down right above it.

When I was a teen in the 90s, I thought “almost three decades” was long as hell and that the 1960s and 1970s were ancient. And then

But it’s still irrelevant because Brie Larson is playing “Carol Danvers” and not “Kamala Khan.”

“Gandalf was a Maiar” but, Stephen, Maiar is plural. Gandalf was a Maia. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Well, I would love to see a nicely fleshed-out conflict between the two of them as well. But still, Xavier’s power wasn’t nearly as limited. He could contact/control/read another person’s mind even if they were on the other side of the world.

Last I heard, he’s only a guest-role character for like the first couple of episodes.

Gaaahhhh I said the same thing about The Last of Us...

The characters and the actors performances of the main characters were already so perfect. I don’t really want to watch new actors doing what is essentially cosplay and trying to mimic the originals as best they can.

A really well-made homemade mac & cheese is

WHOA. I’ve been seeing a teeny, tiny gif of this for weeks and I’ve seen no one post anything source-like until this. Thanks!

Are you kidding? These “updates” to the screen have gotten rid of the tighties worn outside of pants.

That’s a good thing.

Addendum: Not to say that all updates are good. But to have no updates at all and to merely translate faithfully would a bad idea.

Yeah but it was all secretive before. But now, Tony Stark shows up in his apartment and asks him to join the team? That’s a big change in direction, and it’s logical enough to believe the secretive kid would suddenly be like “HOLY COW I’M GONNA MEET ALL THE AVENGERS??? I GOTTA GET THIS ON SNAPCHAT/YOUTUBE/INSTAGRAM.”

Y

I’ve been to a lot of places in the world, including places like Mexico, the Philippines, and Canada.

The States has the safest roads and the most law-abiding drivers than anywhere else. More than once I’ve seen drivers in other countries regularly drive on the OPPOSITE lane to get passed all the other cars when their

The thing is, everyone’s a dumbass. We all are dumbasses, in one way or another. So it’s better to go straight to the specifics. Because then, other people won’t have to ask “how were you being a dumbass this time?”

Snapchat just randomly stopped working for me three months ago anyway. It was probably after an update, but no updates since have fixed it.

More like, “okay, time to think about Grandma, Grandma, Grandma, Grandma...”

Again, it depends on the user and user-skill. Skilled users easily make a santoku just as versatile, if not more. I grew up in a country and region where santokus were common and rarely ever saw a western chef knife. Are you willing to say that western, white, french tools are really that much better than eastern,

It depends on what tool you’re used to. In our kitchen I’ve seen seasoned santoku users outchop seasoned chef knife users, and vice versa. The only real limit is lack of practice or familiarity with one, but plenty of practice and comfortableness with the other.

Update - a week later: New post with a new video highlighting all the CGI. Jon’s scenes are halfway through the 3-minute video. So much CGI battling!

I would watch that, too. But I want to hear her opinions on EVERYBODY. Daily Show - Westeros Edition

Now playing

Yeah, that inital charge was real, as were the many horses around him in the background throughout the battle scene.

But I was talking about when he was in the midst of the battle there were some obvious things digitally added later. In the same video, there were shots of him on the field with a big giant screen about

Oh, then start with Bad. It’s one of my favourite albums from him.

I’m inclined to agree. While Jon’s over-the-shoulder battle view was really, really great, I can’t really put it into the same category with DD because of all the CGI involved with Jon’s battle. I am pretty sure all the horseriders coming at him were CGI.
