And there’s a huge inconsistency between running the ball into the end zone (get the tip in by a micrometer and it’s a TD) and a catch in the end zone (have to fulfill the NFL’s insane catch rules for it to be a TD, breaking the plane of the end zone be damned).

It’s not even the same rule. The Packers play was under the rule about when a receiver has established possession and can fumble. The term “football move” persists because it used to be the standard, but they changed it years ago. Now you have to be “clearly established as a runner” to be able to fumble.

“football move” has never and will never be in the text of this rule.

The issue isn’t with standard completions but ones that take place at the goal line for scores. Having possession by rule should be considered a score. Completion of the catch is semantics that should be changed. Like I said, I don’t know anyone that likes the rule as it currently stands.

If you’re falling when you make the catch, you have to hold onto it. It’s really that simple.

Yes, and it would have been a stupid thing for Trump to tell the ISIS leadership, who of course could figure it. But Trump only told the city to the Russians, who are unlikely to know the details, care or act on it since the city is held by ISIS.
