On top of that, Ekblad was close to the boards when he got hit and it looks like he came very close to having his head hit the boards. I love seeing big hits in the game still but I 100% agree that this was a shitty and unnecessary hit.

Hitting a guy on his knees is completely unnecessary and a shitty play. Looks like he kept it clean, which is good, but there’s a lot of potential for that to end very poorly for Ekblad.
