Australian here- and honestly it varies from resturant to resturant.

Because if you take a leisurely attitude and customers complain about the service, you’ll find yourself getting offered less hours/ being out of a job?
Australian here, and yeah we’ve got quality places where they’re trained and have to present everything in a polished manner...and that tends to come from them being paid a higher rate, so a higher quality of service is expected.
I’d make an argument for S1 being RTD’s best season- while the production values aren’t always up there, it is probably his best written series with the strongest overall arc.
I mean I can’t imagine there wouldn’t still be abit of weed being passed around- yeah Keith dropped the heroin, but he never stopped smoking weed, that was also around the time they were hanging out with Peter Tosh (and from what he’s said recently, he’s dropped alcohol but still has abit of weed.)
As someone who loves old-school Blues I don’t have the words to describe how angry it makes me that regular people hear that Bo-Diddley/ Muddy Waters riff and just think ‘oh it’s the riff from Bad to the Bone.’
You’re right I should be praising them for making all the right choices in each category, rather than giving my opinion of the winners in the name of creating discussion.
I do want to get around to Barry- peak TV there is too much to get through!
Agree about Claire Foy- I feel like this Emmy is basically the Emmy’s given her one overall as an acknowledgement of what she did with the part rather than her work for this season. (And because they won’t get another oppurtunity to give her an…
My snubs list-
I never said a showrunner writes every episode- but generally speaking a showrunner will write major episodes (such as the opening of the series and the finale) and will have a hand in the stories for other episodes/ rewrite other writers work to keep it tonally consistant.
Just worth pointing out that Neil Gaiman has denied having any involvement in Fuller leaving the show- and has said he loved Fuller’s take and is sad he left.
The article above should really clarify that Neil Gaiman has denied butting heads with Bryan Fuller over the second season (and the initial report also claimed Gaiman was going to be stepping in as an interim showrunner- which he also denied, pointing out that he was busy with Good Omens.)
I mean Doctor Who has only really had two showrunners (RTD and Moffat) with Chibnall now being the third.
One of my favourite things about Ted Danson’s continued resurgence is it just reinforces one of my favourite throwaway Futurama gags:
I do agree with you that The Avengers was when the MCU became really huge- but you can’t really get to The Avengers without Iron Man.
With 2008 I still feel it could go either way with Iron Man and The Dark Knight.
I’ve heard that Brad Bird originally wanted to get John Barry to do the music for this, as he very much wanted that Barry/ Bond sound for the soundtrack, but Barry wasn’t interested in emulating his 60's work for the soundtrack.
There’s a John Lennon quote that I remember that sums up the problem with alot of McCartney’s solo work-
Sounds like they both got the idea for this from that good natured billionaire, Arthur Fortune.
An ironic example give Apple Computers frequent legal issues with the Beatles company Apple Corps.
