And that's in additional to the fee that Amex charges? Kinda crazy in that case!

Shouldn't this... you know, also increase your chances of slipping? And considering that umbrellas can partially obstruct a person's view, it'd be especially dangerous to try this around others even if you are excellent at controlling your directions.

Wow that sucks in that case - had no idea that goes on until you mentioned it.

Really? I've done that rather frequently whenever I receive gift cards. I've bought Amazon and Playstation Network gift cards from CVS before using those pre-paid Visa/Mastercard gift cards before.

Are the fees imposed by the store itself or do you mean the fees imposed by the cards? Debit-like gift cards that are universal typically carry fees whereas store-specific cards do not. If that store does impose its own fees, then that's a pretty inane practice.

I'm assuming that the selectable text script won't extend to Spotlight's version of Quicklook? I've tried it there but it doesn't seem to allow text to be selected - I can preview various text files without an issue.

I think the difference between what's legal and illegal is a bit iffy. In this case, it may be classified under competitor analysis (e.g. "rumors" and "rumblings") and not so much stealing classified information such as trade secrets. If the method of which to obtain these "rumors" encroached on the latter, then I

They already have this via the lockers program at various retailers - 7-Eleven for example in the US.

I thought that it might be a good opportunity for Amazon to extend their affiliates program to physical stores, thus helping to prevent them from being shuttered altogether. This would be similar to how the "Fulfilled by Amazon" program works as well.

Because Amazon operates on pixie dust, yes? Who do you think you're speaking or writing to when you contact Amazon reps? And if you don't like how the item feels or looks like, you're free to return it back to Amazon - because I'm sure people never return items to physical stores.

Holy nostalgia... First thing that popped into my head when I saw that cloaked monster was Rocky and Pocky

I was hoping the Charms shortcut would work but alas no. I've had better luck using the trackpad and moving the pointer to the lower left corner. This is from VMWare Fusion on a MacBook Air.

I believe Toasts are the Windows 8 version of notifications. There's not much information out yet though. Hopefully LH will cover this as more details come out.

The difference is that Win + D brings you to the desktop even from within the Metro apps. Pressing the Win key from Metro apps simply brings you back to the Metro home screen.

@ntereycelogy: Let there be pissy parents! PS2 bundles generally do not include memory cards; usually it's the store-specific bundles where a variety of items are "bundled" separately that may have memory cards included.

@TheTonyShow: Super. Target's online store only shows the PS3 version (and out of stock too) but there's been reports that it's available for $20 in store.

If you have a Target store nearby, you might actually be able to pick it up there instead for $20.
