I once attended an MLB game with a friend who was a former minor league pitcher. He predicted most pitches correctly, identified every pitch the instant it left the pitcher’s hand, and generally explained what was going on and why. He even once said “oh, the catcher’s gonna go to the mound here”, which he did. It was…
Almost all those guys started, if not played, at some time in their career. Here’s the 1st round of the MLB draft in 2013 (you can see more years at http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/history/draft/draft.jsp#) Fully 1/3 never make it to the bigs at all. Aside from pitchers, only a handful of the rest had meaningful MLB careers.…
The problem with baseball is that success seems less predictable. I’m sure he’ll be able to field just fine, and he has a rifle for an arm. But he won’t know if he can figure out major league pitching until he faces it regularly. (See Maas, Kevin). And if he can’t, he’s out. He hit .296 in limited playing in college.…

Or that the 42-14 drubbing ND received from Alabama in his 3rd year (2013) was “totally different” than this 30-3 shitshame in his 9th year.
Personally, I can’t wait to get in the wave pool during the normally temperate months of November and December!
Same here. I was lucky, had two great ones at the same school, and who both changed my life.

Me, too. And the fourth question could have been answered through LinkedIn. Sheesh.
I hope so. The new RDX looks pretty promising, so I’m hoping an all-new ILX based on the current-gen Civic platform (when it comes) will be a contender. (And hoping that Acura finally offers it with AWD).
My favorite response is the “Your Stupid” type.
After I posted, I read an article in which Bosa’s dad recounts that he saw a player, who was as well regarded as Joey Bosa, crunch his leg, and later fell 20-30 spots down the draft board. Fuck that.
Lol. How many times do you hear of a minor-league team in baseball ruining a top prospect in order to bump up the team’s record? Almost never, right? College teams are the minor leagues for football and basketball, but the incentives perversely have their coaches riding their top players too hard. Good on Bosa and…
I would consider taking away my health care to be very rude, indeed.
