A good one. Get one that’s too thin, it’ll start warping and pretty soon your slice of bread looks like you were drunk when you cut it.

Yeah, same thing here: I cursed when I first saw the Cruze in the rental lot. Not what I’d want to buy, but it was pretty darn good. It didn’t feel cheap or fragile.

You mean looks or driveability? I haven’t driven the first gen. Had to rent the Cruze last year. When I first saw it on the rental lot, I cursed. But I was pleasantly surprised. Handled pretty well and accelerated fine on the California freeway. Seats were good and Apple Car Play worked flawlessly.

Agreed. Chevy managed to do it with the new Cruze.

Just sayin...

This answer makes sense to me. I still think “tens of billions” is misleading (particularly because these are supposed to be “young” galaxies, but I understand what you mean. Thanks!

Seattle is the same, only our sheep wear black on our long, dark winter days. Sometimes the glow from the phone is the only warning you have that a pedestrian has jaywalked in front of your car without looking up.

But the galaxies they’re referring to in the article are ones we can see, so they must be less than 13.82 LY away from us, right?

If universe is only about 13.82 billion years old, then these galaxies are billions, but not tens of billions, of light years away. Otherwise, interesting article.

That was President Trump—have some respect!

Exactly. It would be like your electrical company saying it won’t charge you for the electricity used by GE appliances. Think that doesn’t provide a competitive advantage to GE?

Much the same thing was said in the 1920s and 1930s about rural electrification. Now the rural areas of the U.S. are hotbeds of Trump voters. How quickly we forget.

Back during the Iran hostage crisis, an Indian friend in high school was beaten up by another guy for being Iranian. (A girl who was the attacker’s friend, pointing out that she was Iranian, who pulled him off.)

George Carlin once proposed that each car have suction cup or magnetic darts it can launch at another car, and a cop can automatically write a ticket for any car with 3 or more darts stuck to it. I continue to think that is a brilliant policy concept.

Yes! Looked it up after reading your comment and I think you are definitely correct. Thanks!

Agree. I think the 1st gen A5 Sportback (saw it in Europe) is better looking than this new one. Although I still the overall look. A7 always seemed too cut-off at the rear to me.

This, last summer in Tokyo. If anyone can identify it I would be most grateful.

The hell they are.
