Same here. I'm not sure it's the literary style or density of the concepts. I read "The Name of the Rose" twice, (the first time I finished it in a week) and it is also a hefty read.

I'm really ashamed of this... I could never finish Dune. I don't think I got to the first 20 pages. Something just didn't click. I loathed the Lynch movie and never had any intentions on visiting the House of Atreides ever again. Can anybody persuade me otherwise?
