Last week, while standing in line at a huge entertainment complex, I asked one of the employees if I was in the right line to reserve a table for the restaurant. Before I could even finish, she cut me off dismissively and said: “You’re in the right line.”

I would be mad about this until the day I die, then I would haunt the fucking airport.

I played 1, 2 and 3 back to back - I was pretty done with the series for a while after that. Came back and played 4 a few moths later and absolutely loved it. I think I would have felt similarly to you if I had gone right into it.

I highly, highly recommend everyone read The Black Jacobins, which is generally considered the best book about the Haitian Revolution. And I would also recommend the Revolutions podcast part on the Haitian Revolution. Not nearly enough people understand the fascinating and historical history of it and how the US

All of this lol.

Patch 1.01 Notes:

One of the most vivid memories I have is, when my mom was going through a divorce with my asshole stepdad, and the bills were piling up and she didn’t know how she would do it, me and my sister were sitting at the dinner table with her and my om just looked tired and worn out.

Fucking.

You think all these “demand identification” types wanted to be Cops and couldn’t cut it, or it’s just a desire for segregated pools, or both?

I don’t understand how people keep doing this and not think about it might ruin their lives.

$5 says the bitch that called the cops knew EXAXTLY who she was because she voted for the person she defeated

But that would cut down on the pool of future cops.

Cops don’t want the police brutality to stop, they just want people to stop complaining about the brutality.

If the cops want better relationships with the community, it’s on them to do something about it. Complaining about books that discuss police brutality is not the path forward, especially since I would bet that most of these kids are already aware of police violence against people of color. These books will not be

There’s definitely a change in the way the streaming music sets and breaks records in comparison to the “old” days. Artists today are making music to be processed online and consumed via these platforms. But I don’t think it means people aren’t invested in music anymore - I just think the way that investment manifests

It’s funny. You could actually make a similar argument as to why Dragon Ball Z is so beloved among Latino (and, in my experience, particularly Mexican) men of a certain age. Everyone I know has memories of watching this show growing up. It was one of the few cartoons you could watch without cable because it was

Pretty much hits the nail on the head.

I guess it all comes together. Dragon Ball was inspired by those Shaw Brothers films, as are the Wu Tang Clan. It fascinates me why Black Men love DBZ and Kung Fu movies, but reading this story made a lot of sense.
