I never shy away from the fact that Black people EVERYWHERE have the same problem as every other race of people on this planet: we all have superiority complexes.

There is very much an in-depth discussion long overdue for Black America about understanding the lives of Caribbean, European, and African Americans. Too much is lost in translation of how Blackness is defined,and often Black America is very dismissive and blind to its own xenophobia.

There is nothing redeemable about his admission because it reinforces something Black folks need to keep in mind about White folks who were born in the older generations where racism was a bit more seething and frothing at the mouth.

This is a social movement but you have to pay attention to it like any historical movement: one group is ushering in change and no longer asking for permission. The other group is vehemently against it and will not go silently in the night. Think facism, racism,etc.

I think the internet alone is proof enough that many nuances in Black culture need to be explained because just being Black aint enough to know details. My family wasn’t even established in this country until the 1950s, and as American as I am, there’s plenty of stuff I do not know as a Black American or a Caribbean…
