I'm not annoyed at casuals. I also wasn't trying to be a hipster. My message wasn't "Oh, now everyone likes what I likes!", it was, "Oh, now I'm gonna be forced to talk to people that I dislike whilst playing games, despite my gaming being what I used to get AWAY from these people." It'll happen like Facebook, you'll

Maybe you've not seen Facebook. Most people have over 200 friends, and if you don't have a Facebook account and add everyone then you're a social reject, the person to make fun of. The same happens with other online communication in my school, and will do too with steam. This means I'll come into contact with the

Well, I didn't exactly mean that. I still love my PS2 today, but most people in my school ditch their old console for the new one, games and all. I was just thinking about the majority and not everyone. Sorry for the sweeping generalisation.

I'm not gonna explain it again, but I made a few mistakes in what the message I was getting across was. If you're interested in proving me ignorant, please read my other responses.

No, I was mad that they had no respect for my interest, being immature and rude, and now suddenly they all want to get into PC gaming. I also may have made it seem like I'm being a hipster. Everything I said was intended to be understood as in the boundaries of school life. For example, I didn't get into PC gaming

Maybe you haven't seen how Facebook affects school. Most people have over 200 Facebook friends. I needed to get into contact with one or two school friends, so I got it. In the next few days, I got a HUGE number of friend requests from people I don't like or don't know. This happens with all communication now.

I didn't mean that. Sorry. By that I was trying to explain that, in school, a new form of communication is made, for example, Facebook. You're then forced to add everyone to your friends list who has it, whether you want to or not. otherwise you become a social reject. In doing this I'll have a bunch of people I don't

No, that's not what I meant. Sorry. When I said "sudden interest" I meant in my school. Due to the new consoles coming out, it's the opportunity for people to shift to PC. The reason this annoys me isn't being a hipster, it's that this means I'll be forced to add people to my friends list I don't like, and it means

Nope, not at all. What I am saying is that this surge of interest in my school of PC gaming is going to lead me to speak more to people I don't like, as social norm seems to force.

I never said I liked it from the beginning. I never said I liked it before the millions of PC gamers before me. What I said was that social norms force you to spend time via form of communication with people you aren't that fond of. When I say this, what I mean is that, because nobody was into PC gaming before, I

I didn't mean by everyone worldwide. I meant in my school. Sorry for the misunderstanding. And by consoles, I meant the PS3 and X360

That's really in-depth. Thanks :o

Can I just state that, due to the sudden interest in PC gaming now that peoples' consoles are going to be out of date, they HAVE to brag over their specs that they seriously know nothing about. I'm not sure if you know how ignorant or disrespectful some people can be, but to me, amongst many others, gaming is my

Maybe you're right. I just feel that people can be so easily manipulated and pressed by companies to buy things they don't really want.

I guess I am. I just got sick of having a bunch of people sending me impersonal or annoying messages over Xbox Live every day, because they "have" to have me on their friends list.

Being a PC gamer in school is hell. For years I've been frustrated at people who are so ignorant not to care what companies do to them, making cheap games and bad policies. These people blindly buy a console despite, let's say, the Xbox One's bad policies (most of which are now gone). Now all of a sudden everyone is

On that half, you learn that some people are asshats. Scratch that, LOADS of people are asshats. :3

Well, there's not much more to do than wish you the best, so there's no point in pretending that I could do anything else. :P I imagine hearing that constantly gets annoying though.

Yay for happy stories in gaming, something we never see. :3

That's odd, as in my experience video games have made me understand life better and helped me to meet new people who are much different than I am. If anything, it's made me MORE human.
