I can understand your point. I though, completely disagree. When I watch a film or TV show, all I can think about is the behind the scenes, and sometimes even lose focus of what I'm watching, if it's not that good. I personally feel the VR headset would make things MORE immersive.

My mother has an eye which isn't as strong, which means she couldn't see old 3D films in 3D (the newer ones are better though). If they released a commercial version of this for sight improvement, I'd dig it.
