We’ll have to see how it drives once it actually comes out. I hope to be surprised, but I’m not holding my breath.

I hope Mazda sells a shitload of these, but AWD with an automatic means it’s gonna be a snooze to drive. Hopefully this is Mazda’s Cayenne and helps finance other sportier models.

280 lb-ft is a riot in the speed3 because that power is only going to the fronts and managed with a mechanical LSD. In an auto-only with AWD this is going to drive like a lukewarm crossover.  It’ll be a fantastic daily, but this is going to be about as zoom-zoom as a Camry.

Are you sure on that “always a manual”?  I thought the speed6 was offered with an automatic.

Digital gauges can suck it until I can set the numbers. If I can manually set the max speed on the speedometer, and give it a yellow and red range, then it has more use to me than a mechanical gauge.

I think Cadillac needs to sit down and think about who they want to be, because right now they seem to be shooting for “sportier Buick with dumber names”, and we all know where that’s going to end up.

For comparison’s sake, that’s about +30 hp/tq over a Mazdaspeed3, at about the same weight.

There seems to be this common misconception that the 1st Amendment right to freedom of speech protects from any consequences of what you say, when all it means is the government can’t prosecute you for it.

Or just take that new gas 7.3L (I think that’s what you’re referring to by “new 460") and tune it for 6500 rpm. I’d be surprised if you couldn’t get an honest 500hp without boost.
