The 350GT didn’t come from a line of cars where the number referenced something objective about the car.

I’m all about a new Z, but “400Z” is an objectively dumb name for a car with a twin turbo 3.0L that has a storied history involving a prior generation with a twin-turbo 3.0L with a name that directly correlates to its displacement.
Nissan, stop being stupid and call this the 300Z already.
I’d be curious how this would be if you took a hot hatch, say a FoST, and used it to make on-demand power to the rears. I’ve always been of the mind that in a split-drivetrain hybrid, the electric power should go to the back, and it’d be nice to test that theory.
That would make a heck of a lot more sense to me.
Man... fuck the Mach E.
How about instead of getting off some environmental high horse, we pull trucks up with us? Ford has a hybrid F150 in the pipes, a good hybrid system would only bring benefit to the functionality that a pickup provides.
Because this is the base Corvette, and they’ve left intentional room on the table for the Z06, Grand Sport, ZR1, etc models that will come later.
Neutral: I’ll buy a new car when I find one that ticks enough of my boxes to justify the silly prices that new cars (justifiably) command. I haven’t seen much of the new Bronco, but if I can get the two door in zinc yellow (or similar), with the manual and an Ecoboost 2.3L for ~$30k, that’ll get me on a dealer lot.…
$3k for a running 7.3? Nice price all day.
Do the windows not roll down or something? Does the keyfob door-pop stop working? Is there no emergency oh-shit-the-handle-broke-pop-the-damn-door-opener like every other high-end car with door poppers?
I mean, yeah, fix yo’ shit, but I find it difficult to believe that you physically can’t get out of the car just…
Oooor they could just release the %&$^ing IDx. Branding it as a Datsun would be bonus, but not necessary.
Hopefully you live somewhere that doesn’t bankrupt you.
The cooler looks photoshopped in.
That’s USDM only, right?
I hate how much I hate this thing purely because they put the Mustang badges on it. I’m all about Ford making a sporty electric crossover! It doesn’t look terrible! If only they’d call it -anything- else. Hell, when this comes out the Fusion sedan will be done, why not use that name? It’s perfect for an electric car!
Well... Ford did just end their policy of manuals-only in performance model cars. Up until the 2020 GT-500, all prior Ford ST/SVT/RS/Shelby/etc cars* were stick-only. Only a matter of time before the lower-trim Mustangs go the same route.
So... shot in the dark... none of the Mustang elements will make it to production. Ford is only putting them on there to generate a bunch of online hype and get people talking about what’s otherwise not really all that much of a story (Big 3 manufacturer looking to make electric SUV).
Either that or the product…
La Roux - “In for the Kill” and it’s sweet AW11 goodness:
Sounds like typical old “collectors” who would rather see cars sealed away in climate-controlled garages as art pieces rather than actually keeping them driving on the road.
