Nope. They're too busy running the plants. And Texas being what it is - having a science or engineering degree means diddly when it comes to educational politics. For that, YA GOTTA READ YER BIBLE.

No doubt. But there are communities who will and do choose sports over arts and science and education.
Do your local citizenry set the budget, or does your school board?
Really? Because for me, I defend this "bad online behavior." I see pro sports in this country as a parasitic opiate with little actual positive benefits, and I celebrate people who share my point of view here.
Fuck sportsball of all types. I mean it. Because whatever variety of #sportsball it is, there are far too many communities who take it too fucking seriously, sometimes to the detriment of other things that matter.
Tell that to any miserable kid who's been shunned, bullied, and/or dismissed by his peers because he sucks at sports.
As Otakunomike mentioned, some have very rocky starts. However, some of the rockiest starts turned into some of the best in the long run.
Shout out to Corsetto! She's a really cool person and GWS is one of my favorite webcomics.
The only way I can be convinced to watch this POS is if the aliens win.
Could this work? Possibly. Although they'd have to revamp the character significantly, he could be developed as a modern outlaw SJW. I read a number of the early "The Saint" novels and stories, and Simon Templar was definitely interested in helping out the little guy (hence the "Robin Hood of Modern Crime" tag). …
Added this to my Netflix DVD queue, in the hopes that this is Ignatiy's Rosetta stone.
Was I the only one who clicked on this article because I saw a cap from The Wicker Man and got really excited that might be a sequel and then read the title and spiraled down into a fiery, bee-filled depression?
Even knowing that most of the episode is fun isn't enough. I start getting anxious when the episode automatically comes on and ALWAYS skip it. I love the episode and think it's some great television - but I don't want to be bawling my eyes out like I did the first time I saw it.
Ya beat me to it - but I'm glad there's another TCA nerd on the AV Club with me.
Paltrow's all right, but she's no Annabel Porter.
I don't know if these guys would have raped anyone in the violent sense. But the way they talked - "date rape" is definitely something they seemed to condone (despite not using those words).
"MRA" = "Mens Rights Activist" = dudes who actively proclaim that "it ain't rape if she's too drunk/stoned/fucked up to consent," "feminism is about emasculation, not equality," "the friendzone," etc.
Pretty much a combination of typical MRA and PUA BS.
I suppose so. IIRC, some of them were from NYC, NJ, and VA.
In English. I don't speak Korean, so I don't know what they were saying when they spoke it. I do, however, recognize the language when I hear it (the same way I recognize Japanese when I hear it).
