The DACA thing is shaping up to be a shitshow. Trump is creating a problem to push off on a Congress that has shown no ability to solve any problem, and is facing down like 3 or 4 other high profile issues as well. It’s like he’s forcing the Republican party to play chicken with itself.

The INA gives an enormous amount of discretion to the executive branch. Deferred action isn’t status, so there aren’t really statutory restrictions on who can be given it.
