Cool. Maybe I will give it a second chance. I'll try it again when I play the remastered version. Thanks for the tips.

Or maybe a controller without flimsy thumbsticks. The entire reason we stopped playing our N64 as kids...

I have enjoyed the aeon puzzles so far, but I just can't get into blitzball. I've tried to play a few games and get my ass kicked every time.

Former best buy employee here.

I agree with you, FFX does still have the Final Fantasy charm. Interesting perspective. I didn't play the game when it was released and at the time (when I was a kid) I didn't really have many friends. So, I never heard anything about it.

Personally, I like the combat. I did play FFXI quite a bit before XII, so it wasn't such a huge change in the system itself.

It's pretty cool, but I still prefer a standard "stat roll" level system, or something like what Dragon Quest VIII did.

Eh, we'll see what happens with XV. So far, it sounds like it's not quite a button masher.

Yeah, the music from XII isn't really memorable. If it weren't for the music, I probably wouldn't have liked FFVIII nearly as much.

That's what I thought, haha.

Thanks, that is a one of the more adequate explanations of the differences between the two.

I really hate Blitzball. I'm pretty much only going to play the required match and then never touch it again. Linear games really only bother me when they are boring. Otherwise, I'm alright. I will always prefer open ended games, but it depends on how much of the area is actually interesting to explore.

Seriously. They didn't really expand on the characters, but the combat and open exploration was pretty damn cool.

Now playing

His voice doesn't sound too bad in Japanese. BUT...The laughing scene is actually worse with the Japanese voice cast.

I have played pretty much all of the Final Fantasy games, just not X or X-2. IV was fantastic. I grew up playing PSone Final Fantasy games and went back to play the old ones. On a road trip, playing FFIV on GBA was a great experience.

Well, nostalgia has an impact on most intellectual properties that have been around for a while. Is anybody really objective when discussing a franchise they like?

I tried to play it a couple of years ago and didn't like it. I'm enjoying it now, though. Tidus is pretty annoying, but I've been able to stomach it so far.

Cool Cool. I'll be playing most of the weekend, so I might get there.

Wow, 39 hours is not too bad. My FF8 playthrough was...180 hours I believe. I take my time with FF games though. FF8 had tons of extra and secret stuff.

I appreciate the extra info. I forgot about the similar names for everything in XIII. The characters in X are definitely more likeable. We'll see how it goes, I'm not very far into the game. IX is still my favorite though.
