I am going to respond with a witty and interesting comment... Tomorrow.
You must have missed the post telling you about this post informing you that another post is coming.
Wait this is a post telling us there will be a post later?
LOL to all of this.
I’m in Austin.
Is an 80 grand Corvette really the everyman’s sports car anymore? I don’t understand driving the vehicle that far upmarket. For that price you could nearly get a Viper.
Isn’t it more likely exactly what it sounds like... factory upgrades? You could interpret that in a million ways. I can make stuff up too for headlines, Car & Driver:
That was my first thought as well. Ford spent $1.3B to upgrade the Kentucky truck plant to build the 2017 Super Dutys. That was for “a new body shop, facility upgrades, and retooling.” $290m could be just to upgrade the paint shop and HVAC.
MAKE IT A BUICK! MAKE THE WORLD BURN!
Lolz at people who think $290 million is enough to upgrade a plant to handle two completely separate chassis. They have clearly never seen a factory cost analysis for a re-tool, let alone a complete restructuring.
I’m with you on it. I’m not convinced that going mid-engine would be an improvement for the Corvette. It feels like change for change’s sake. Are handling, weight balance, or rotational inertia things that will actually be improved by moving from the current setup? The Corvette already has a slight rear weight bias…
So I guess this means the merger with Car & Driver is complete?
Actually of the electric lettering BMW has the i, VW-Group including Audi has the e.
Ach, I’ll have to change my name...
I am totally OK with this, as long as they don’t make ugly-and-useless-as-shit “crossover coupes” that serve no purpose other than to be ugly and useless (and opulent).
