I am actually really surprised at how much the first few minutes of this film works. Cutting Episode 1 down to two scenes really gives it more power. Simply shocking.

I could be wrong, but the 16 kilobytes might be referring to the size of the cartridge the game resides on and not the amount of ram it uses.

Being that I'm the guy in the video and I am quite sure I do know what I'm talking about. The 'demake' was produced at nearly identical game play and graphics (lower resolution of course) and with removed parallax scrolling. Personally, I would have gone with bigger balloons. That wasn't nearly as visually interesting as it could have been!

I am a fan of the original, and I must say this did a lot to retain the originals feel. It's a very fast very old school style shooter.

I will never get sick of Smooth McGroove's covers. Each one is just so well done!
