Do you actually work on games?

This is why most developers don’t release early drafts, my friend - but in this case it’s good that they did. What you see as “stuck in limbo” strikes me as nothing more than a set of poor choices on animation timing and relatively easily fixable - but we’ll see if they listen. If they don’t listen to fan reactions

I love it. The FFX paint from 2001 is still on my list of fondest memories, ever. Kudos to all the real artisans in the world that still make beauty.

“Also what a nightmare, having to be in First Class on a flight with the common people only a few feet away in Economy.”

That’s not what he’s talking about. A star at Depp’s level flies anything less than a private jet, he faces *mobs* of paparazzi - who will do their very best to harass him, get shots of him looking

Oh, my goodness. No, it wasn’t “cringe-inducing even at the time”.

I dunno man, SOTN has a lot of quickness and twitch to it, and I still play that game to this day. I really hope Igarashi is trying his best to channel that classic, either way.

Let’s hope they tune it, and listen to feedback. To be honest, I think that what they have actually looks like a strong start and would be great if they change up the timing a bit - make it faster, make it look and feel more responsive, a bit more “twitch”.

Indeed. In fact, very nearly no matter the pipeline...a full game will *always* take more time to animate than a video.

Hi Sumayyah -

I am so sorry for your experiences.

Not yet. Started my career working for JAMDAT Mobile before it was bought and became EA Mobile - lots of mobile games. Took a sidetrack towards trying to create special effects software for a few years; now I’m working back towards gaming; here’s a screenshot of an indie title I’m working on right now on my own in

I would be wary of assigning an overtly political agenda to the game...at least until it comes out.

Ditto. Those graphics aren’t hurting either. Really just looks well done all over the board.

Where are these legions of people going “Oh my God, is he looking at PORN? Someone get him a videogame about having sex with catgirls so he can grow up to be normal!” that a certain contingent here seems to be worried about?

I am trying desperately right now to understand the mindset that holds its head high and proud playing a “catgirl-fucking simulator”, but feels intense shame at the thought of looking at pornography.

I am not succeeding at this.

You know, friend, from time to time I actually used to read Playboy for the articles instead of just the naked women.

God bless this dude. The anti-tryhard. Keep it up and keep reminding people that games are supposed to be fun.

More like badly worded.

I appreciate the calm response. I was a bit tilted when you suggested I had no idea what I was talking about, so I was ruder than I should be. I feel we’re into the meat of fixing the game now.

I am so glad I treated myself to several months off making games and enjoying my life instead of dealing with your bratty attitude, kiddo. :) But hey! To respond at long last:

“The Gathering” refers to players, not cards. >_> Look up the history of the game. Garriott wanted a name that brought players together, and that’s where that part of the name came from.

And netdecking is actually super bad for new players, because then you don’t learn the game or how to pilot anything with skill.
