I saw it at TIFF. It’s good, but it’s not very interested in providing explanations for some of the questions it poses, so if that kind of things bugs you, beware. Kirsten is good in it, very magnetic to watch.

If actor feels that a line of dialogue won’t read well to the audience, that is exactly their lane. The director can refuse the opinion and exercise veto over it, but that’s hardly steering outside of her job description. Some directors love input and collaboration with actors and some would eagerly replace all actors

I dunno. In the last few years of Stewart, I was getting pretty bored and was regularly skipping it. The quality on Noah is inconsistent, but it’s been steadily improving, and I watch often. I think it’s gonna go good places.

Well, I didn’t feel resentful for the trick. I feel resentful for the fandom getting so intense about theories and pushing them down people’s throats.

It was said in an earlier episode that the hosts are given these core drives and personal stories, and that their personalities are built outwards from there. Also, bot-to-bot talk is a way they self-correct and practice being lifelike. So we were watching BernardBot performing routine functions.

Talent is great, but when we attach our self worth to our artistic abilities, then being confronted by peers who are better at what we do than we are can be... destabilizing, to say the least.

I really despised Bush The President, but Bush The Former President and Painter, I find myself fascinated by. This statement, combined with how drunk he was at that memorial he attended, combined with what must be a general awareness of how the public regards him, makes me wonder if he’s struggling with his life

I worked in childcare for three years. Most of the people were working at barely above minimum wage. It’s depressing to work somewhere where a toddler is wearing more expensive clothes than you are.

I love horror movies with a passion, but the shock-tactics of many movies in the past 6 or so years really makes my eyes roll.

Handmaid’s Tale was hard to enjoy. It’s one of those books with a great story but is written in such a way that drives me *insane*. I still have trouble pinpointing why. I think it’s the endless flower talk?

Yeah, no. I watch TDS just fine. Trevor just needs time to find his footing. Jon Stewart was on the show for years before it developed into anything worth watching, and honestly, I stopped watching a couple years before he left because it’d become pretty meh to me. Even when he was on the Late Show recently I couldn’t

Ditto forever.

I’ve been under the impression that tattoos in Japan are generally regarded as being a mark of being Yakuza. So much so that it can serve as one of those round-about ways of keeping people locked into the organization, as it’s hard to get a job or make attachments when people see you with them.

But will he work on the accent that seems to give him physical pain while speaking?

This movie looks fine. Men are so emotional.

Nvm, I’m tired.

Another Torontoite here: Amen. I’ve walked into Goodwills that were neater and more orderly than Zara.

Every time someone tells me that anti-semiticism is over in the US/Canada is over I just raise an eyebrow.
