Having the title game on TBS was dumb as shit.

The fact that Paige’s three and the Tarheels coming back is going to be forever forgotten is both completely true and an absolute shame.

Watching the post game presser. These UNC student athletes have more grace in losing than many professional athletes.

Except Duke v. UNLV was a semi-final.

Duke unlv wasn’t the final game

I think so. One thinks of the 3OT game Wilt lost, or perhaps NC St-Houston—it’s in rare company for sure. There’s a case to be made that the two most clutch shots in the history of the NCAA Final both happened in the last five seconds of tonight’s game.

Villanova is the worst.

what no one is telling you is in the last collective bargaining the men chose a “pay as you play” type method while the women choose salary and benefits for the whole player pool, because they don’t make as much in their domestic leagues.

“mostly white”

The women’s team played a world cup and the men’s team played no serious games...think.

god this is inaccurate

This whole thing leaves me sceptical because the metrics seem to vary? I mean I thought it was equal work for equal pay. But now it’s the more popular you are then the more you should get paid? But then how do you determine popularity and what happens if popularity should wane? Does that mean the less popular is going

Lets cut right to the chase here...... Comparing the USMNT to the womens is ridiculous.....the level of play on the mens side is insanely better. You dont get paid because its like the minor leagues of soccer....

Isn’t the pay levels based on the time/energy/effort the players would “sacrifice” from their professional careers? For example, a men’s player who plays for MLS or even in Europe vs. a women’s player whose options from a professional soccer standpoint is next to non-existent. Sure, there’s enormous hype/marketing

Maybe these women should actually play in the big leagues if they’re so good?

Women’s soccer is a different industry of Men’s soccer. Men’s soccer has a much larger viewing base so ad time is more expensive so male players are more expensive.

Chelsea Van Valkenburg, Anita Sarkeesian and John Flynt have all be caught multiple times fabricating harassment to reach whatever ends they were seeking. Raymond and Hepler are legit.

How about American football calling their sport “football” and then handling an egg-shaped leather contraption with their hands 95% of the time?

I choose the third option. People like you.

I suppose you don’t like soccer uniforms being called “kits” either.

Not that I disagree with what you and Patrick have both said about the state of the program, but is it really necessary to have two pieces published on the same day detailing how far back the MNT is?
