Missing the point

The problem is people don’t seem to enjoy having a conversation with you, and for good reason. Every single point they make is met with amazing conversation pieces like “So?”, or you doing mental gymnastics on your own wording to explain what you REALLY meant, rather than what anybody with common sense would interpret

You’re not having a conversation about the topic though. You’re trying to shove your opinion down people’s throats.

Have you ever considered not being so pedantic? Or outright unwilling to see a fair point made by another human being, instead of never wanting to be wrong ever?

God damn, this whole thread is kind of sad. The people who claim they knew all along that you couldn’t meet people online are acting kind of delusional, basically ignoring context by hanging on to one tweet for dear life and ignoring the proceeding one.

There is a point where pointing out “micro-aggressions” eventually causes your articles to receive eye-rolls and sighs. If people perceive you as getting professionally offended on a day to day basis, you damage the cause you champion. That’s how you’re coming off to me.

Unsure if poster is berating Nintendo for sending a takedown notice or commending them for not sending a takedown notice...

That’s because the mods can only be played by direct copies of SC2, and lead to SC2 sales. AM2R would do no such thing for Nintendo. The difference between the two examples is so extreme it’s not worth bringing up.

Trust me, it’s not for no reason. Continue to be the easily offended, rather than address any issues people bring forth.

And you’re ignoring what I said when, if they give this guy a license to use the trademark, you’re going to get a billion copycat devs saying “me too” after the fact.

You need to get off the assumption that the context is always about legal terms. “Precedence” of Nintendo allowing developers to willy-nilly create remakes of their old works would be “Hey, since Nintendo didn’t sue this guy I can totally make a remake of Zelda 2 then.”

If you can’t handle someone being a nit about your wording, you shouldn’t be a nit to others’ wording :)

Just because they don’t have to protect their own IP doesn’t make them dicks for doing so. They have every right, as granted by the current laws of copyright, to not allow a precedent to be set regarding remakes of their classics.

Yeah, you lost it when you claimed melee is slow.
