For something to turn iconic a certain time has to pass.

The ESVW II came out in 75 and was basically a modified Golf, which had its debut in 74. Si it was the other way round.

Alfa Berlina

I found them, they are from the Alfa Giulia’s bigger sister, called the Berlina.

Front wheels and front suspension are clearly from a (non-super) beetle.

They’re cheap because old Diesels lack the green emissions sticker, rendering them illegal in most large German cities.

Unfortunately there is no frunk.

Simple. Import steel gets more expensive due to tariffs, US producers also increase prices. Why shouldn’t they? Economics 101

Rover did it first with the P5 coupe

Hell yes I would. Check out the M140i...

Love the 4-color CGA graphics. Is that from Ford Simulator?

That would be pretty stupid. Why waste all this space that the 2 series uses for internal combustion technology if you don’t need it? That’s the same error the first car producers made when they made their cars look like horse-drawn carriages. The I3 has a much bigger interior on a far smaller footprint.

They look and sound great but the direct comparison shows how much faster the modern WRC cars are.

You had me at Supercharged Straight Eight...

Where were you when refrigerators made all the ice vendors unemployed?

It’s amazing. F1 teams do all this development, crash and visibility testing and decide the halo is the best solution. Yet an army of partly-informed keyboard warriors are still convinced they know better.

What are these mythical disruptive drawbacks? The line directly in front of the driver will be almost invisible due to parallax. Drivers said the visibility impairment was negligible.
