It’s also not clear from above how many of these are actually new sales and how many are deliveries on pre-orders. The monthly number looks big, but if most of it is made up of clearing a two-year long backlog it’s not sustainable.

The point about people who need a truck to do truck things not buying Tesla’s is spot on.

Well just a single point of reference, where I live in Texas, I have seen a total of two Cybertrucks, but I have seen 3 different Ford Lightnings, 2 different Rivians, and one of the Chevy EV truck don’t know the model name. Cybertrucks are selling because it’s currently the “new hotness” as far as doing actual truck

Advertising is one way to say, but I’d say its more so that there’s a group of people that absolutely cannot wait to get their hands on these things. My intuition is that its small.

You misspelled Adderall. No one who is as frantically and terminally online and elsewhere as he is taking sedatives. His wild mood swings, zero patience, and general pissy-bitchness are classic amphetamine.

Rape threat or child donation - either way, it’s fucking creepy.

Bingo.  It’s a variation on the “this woman just needs to bedded in order to become reasonable” line, only with his reproduction fetish thrown on top.

<crying>  LEAVE ELON ALONE!  LEAVE HIM ALONE!  <sobbing>

It seems like something was triggered inside of Musk ~3 years ago. He’s been on a downward spiral ever since. His trajectory reminds me a LOT of Howard Hughes. Some parallels:

This was not ‘asking her to have children with him’. It was a rape threat, and couching it as anything but is dishonest.

If you make that much effing money, just buy a place where you work. I’m sure he can find a nice $3 mil bungalow somewhere around town. Heck there’s probably a penthouse somewhere in that old Sears building that is Starbuck’s HQ.

Oh for fucks sake just let your average drones work remote so this guy can work from whatever rich people enclave he lives in.

I moved cross country once for far less money, it wouldn’t kill him to just move.

Chicken and egg.

True.  I have not had a behind the wheel test since 1986 and never have had a vehicle inspection outside of a smog test.

A large part of that is the transit infrastructure you mentioned. The best way to not get into a car accident is to not get into a car. The US is woefully behind the times when it comes to transit. A lot is due to it’s size and history, but it’s laughable how bad we are at mass transit here.

Oh and highly punitive DUI laws too.

YES fix mass transit FIRST before we require everyone to blow into a tube in their car to drive!

Good driver training too. We don’t have that. Most states don’t even have car safety inspections.

The US has 300% more vehicle deaths per capita than Germany. How does Germany do that? Not with any of that BS you wrote about. They have strict licensing requirements and good transit infrastructure.
