This ad strategy is the heart of the Republican party. The boogeyman is interchangeable: black people, brown people, LGBTQ+ people, feminists, etc., but the message is always the same - if you let the liberals win, they will come for you and your family.

As long as it features exactly zero Wesley Crusher callbacks or cameos I’m in.

The best tv for watching the supr bowl is the friends we made along the way...because they always have a nicer tv.

My biggest problem with this was not the placement of the spare. Sometimes you make compromises to get something other than an can of goo.

Yep. You don’t really have to go through a whole bunch of hoopla to convince the lawyers they don’t want you. All you really have to do is convince them that you are capable of critical thought and that you understand things like logic, reasoning, and the difference between facts and opinion. Your science background

Pretty sure this is why SO OFTEN people are left thinking “wtf” after a case where the evidence seemed pretty clear to most people.  They don’t want people who make solid evidence based decisions.

Sing it brother! You are exactly right.

I went somewhere once that had a tip jar, but if you paid on a card, they took cash out of the register representing the tip and put it in the jar right as you paid. One time I left a tip in an odd amount (I wanted my total to be a round dollar amount, it was 20% rounded up) and they just looked at me annoyed. But,

Try as I might, I cannot see a downside.

This is so simple. Set up a giant music festival in the desert nearby, a la Burning Man. I’m talking thousands of attendees. Store all of human waste throughout the weeks long festival in giant vats. On the closing night, instead of burning a giant art project, they flood the pit with the cached waste. Bada bing bada

Can we fill it with politicians? Not sure how many we need to make it work though, may need to keep trying for a while.

I’m honestly tired of the whole thing. It’s a hassle. Just pay workers a decent living wage like every other industry and be done with it.

You’re 100% right that restaurants COULD have just jacked the prices, and it would have been the same thing for the end bill.

frankly I’d far prefer to have those costs built in to the menu than expect it at the end of the service.  but maybe thats just me

You do realize that there are refillable pods that don’t pollute (and bonus, they allow you to use your own freshly ground coffee).

We were at a restaurant Wednesday that adds a 25% service fee and has a note on the menu that 5 of those percentage points are for health insurance and the rest is divided amongst employees because restaurant work is hard and poorly paid. This place has always had a healthcare surcharge, but the full 25% was new and

This is the only job where workers have to pay co-workers. How surprising that restaurants are finding it harder to recruit people to wait on tables.
