I once asked a hiring manager “What do you see as your teams biggest challenge, and how are you working to meet that challenge?”

Bullies want one thing, a reaction. They want their victim to get angry, cry, or otherwise get emotional.

As someone who dealt with variants of this myself, it’s subjective to the issue, even with 20/20 hindsight, I don’t think I found good ways to deal with some of the situations I had.

As one who was bullied mercilessly, I learned some ways to get them to stop, but it always ends with the same thing: You have to have the last word. It ends up being how you get there that can change. Here are a few things I did:
