That ain’t happening, and You. Know. It. Stop hiding, we see the red cap.
Yeah, well, maybe I’m too pissed off for sarcasm here.
That would require the police to actually be held to the same standards as the military, which they’re not. Not that the military is by any means perfect, but the do at least play lip service to it with the UCMJ.
“Who you gonna call, a crackhead?”
This is the local Uvalde SWAT team.
The firefighter equivalent would be claiming you were waiting for the fire to burn itself out before you went in.
In this case if the police were outfitted and trained similar to the military they might have actually done more.
2 things.
One would hope the similarity would end with the rotating roster. Would have just brought up early colonial policing, but figures someone would point out that slave patrols were pretty similar, so might as well get infront of it instead.
Go ahead, ban them. If you are too stupid to see what happened to places that cut back, feel free. Just be ready to deal with the aftermath. And, do not cry about that aftermath like some of these places have. You did it, deal with it.
Anything that’s “similar to slave patrols” is a giant fucking no! Which frankly, includes our police departments as they’re currently set up.
How would the doughnut shop survive?
Parents were begging for the tactical equipment the cops were wearing while doing nothing but crowd control. I cannot imagine the horror of wondering that had you been able to run into the school that you might have saved one child.
It was sarcasm, holy shit.
The most realistic ones I’ve seen involve basically having a militia type thing that would do a rotating staff similar to how colonial watches or slave patrols staffed (all eligible people go on a list and get randomly conscripted for a term). The idea being that I it’s not a career but a service with restricted time,…
sorry.
I’m glad you included the story of the mom being handcuffed when trying to do what the police should have been doing. She wasn’t the only one being held back either. Parents with nothing more than a desire to protect their kids were trying to get in there and stand between the murderer’s bullets and their babies, and…
yeah i’ve seen plenty on here that want to get rid of them, and I don’t see that solving problems like this.
I mean the ads for the fall are writing themselves. I can only imagine a firefighter looking at a blaze and going “Nah, I’m good.” There really are no words for this & the ass covering is making it worse. Other than Republican no one expects their asses to be kissed for doing the bare minimum like a police officer.
