It’s a cool process/challenge for the modders to do. And ultimately neat to have another DLC ported. Pinnacle Station was really boring/underwhelming though and thankfully had no story implications.

This isn’t a uniquely Konami thing - this is an industry-wide thing. The industry itself treats video games as temporary and ephemeral, and so publishers tend not to go for long-term licenses in the way film and TV do for assets like this.

IP laws are so broken. Digital distribution is so broken. Nobody is ever going to fix this and it’s actually gonna get worse in the future.

It won’t happen, but it isn’t stupid either. If the roles were reversed, you can bet Netflix would be shutting her down and trying to collect damages. Her instagram being temporarily banned proves that.

Bungie bought the publishing rights from Activision they did not get “dropped”. The series has been very successful.

There’s room for both a GaaS, Destiny-like game, and a one-and-done game. Most people who play GaaS also enjoy one-and-dones. You’re not old, you’re basically just not into a certain meta-genre.

Hate to read this. While it wasn’t perfect, I thought “Mafia III” had some good gameplay and a better story/storytelling. I would’ve been interested in what they did next...

That’s the only logical consequence after both Anthem and Marvel’s Avengers have shown that games-as-a-service means nothing if the core gameplay loop isn’t perfect and receives constant updates. If not even an IP like Marvel can sell a live service game, then an original IP has it even harder.
