I remember waking up at 0430 on weekday mornings in 95 to Sailor Moon on my local Fox station, and at 0500 on Saturday’s to watch Dragon Ball (Not Z - but we only got the first season of the original show :( ). I was 15 or 16. Before that, I was getting fansubbed stuff from a friend of my cousin’s in San Francisco,…
This got me thinking about how far anime as come in america. I remember having to wake up at 6am to watch pokemon or how the first dub of dragon ball z ended right when goku gets to namek. Now Netflix is throwing money for new anime and crunchyroll is not only simucasting anime, they are also working with these…
I’m willing to assume Sony is afraid of any kind breaches whether it’s their network or exploitation of their users but if this were the case they wouldn’t cross play with PC players who are uniquely capable to using 3rd party software or user side shenanigans to affect other users in various ways.
I agree, everyone wants to jump on the “They don’t wanna play with us” blame game before understanding how business actually runs when it is followed by passionate devotees in our customers. I doubt this has anything with winning or losing, because it will take a LONG way for MS to get to winning in this generation.
As the dominant platform of this cycle, it’s in Sony’s best interest to not have cross platform play. If Microsoft were in Sony’s position, they wouldn’t either. It’s one of the main reasons Microsoft will hammer on as this gets rolled out.
Touche! Personally, I’m fine getting my ass kicked as long as I can do it with friends.
There is no reason beyond an unwillingness to change. It’s worth pointing out that Microsoft would likely be dragging their feet if they were in the lead, and Sony were asking for cross-play. But still, that doesn’t make Microsoft wrong here.
So, people with controllers, and whatever interface they’ll come up with for phones, directly up against mouse+kb in a shooter? Good luck with that...
It’s Sonic all over again.
Patricia Hernandez sucks at video games.
I like it. Aside from the fact that I’m kind of burned out on Roman numerals in general, I think the IIII arranged in the BO2 and 3 styles but also cut to a shield shape is pretty cool. A “IV” (or a “4") is just a “IV”, but this is a uniquely Black Ops emblem.
Wait, so you’re implying that people who don’t know what “IV” means actually aren’t idiots, they’re purists!
i came here to post this lol
I was a GameStop store manager when Grand Theft Auto 4 (IV) released and I had at least a dozen people ask to buy “Grand Theft Auto Ivy” without the slightest hint of irony.
You joke, but it’s not as uncommon as you think, many clocks use IIII instead of IV. Also it wasn’t always IV, the first usage of the tally stye Roman Numeral system did in fact use IIII.
Seriously though, aren’t the only people whining about the roman numerals the same people who don’t know that IIII is actually the old way of writing 4 in roman numerals? You can see it on some fancy clocks and stuff.
Call Of Duty has been the top-selling franchise for nine consecutive years in North America. I think it’s safe to say that “nobody” is perhaps a little inaccurate.
