Oh wild. The Asia Argento thing was exactly what I thought of too.

It’s been an uneven but fun season but she has been the bright spot for sure. Absolutely hysterical.

As if stealing clicks from Reddit wasn’t silly enough, they’re stretching out the clicks in a slideshow. Must be year-end click quotas.

Gold, Jerry! Gold! Not only do you piggy-bag clicks off Reddit but now you’re stretching them out in a slideshow format.

I thought that was Ned Beatty and got excited.

It’s been a while since I read it but I don’t mind a little flab in a novel and for something to be done with every character who’s introduced, that sounds almost surgical. Funny enough, I only know Jane Smiley by name, but I just saw one of her books in a Free Little Library on my walk and thought it sounded good.

For anyone who hasn’t listened to Heavyweight, it’s really about as good as a podcast gets (for me at least). This season was perfect. The part in this episode where Kalila is getting frustrated with Annie’s producer was hysterical.

Really sad to see this feature dying such a slow death.

Weird, I would have assumed she had been up for Supporting Actress. Surely she would have taken it over Marcia Gay Harden. But yes: that is a travesty.

You can watch a televangelist for free.

That’s really cool. I think I’d have gotten burnt out well before you did.

Not a criticism just a note. Perhaps it’s my imagination but many of your pieces seem to begin with “you should...” or some variation. It’s just a slightly off-putting way to present your pieces so I seldom click on those ones despite knowing you’re a brilliant and inventive food writer.

I think a lot of people were pretty critical of her palling around with W., Crystal Brain.

Headlines like this are so stupid. You’re simply not eating them traditionally, you’re not eating them wrong. Let people like what they like.

Check out the podcast Backlisted. It’s quickly become a favorite of mine.

Can someone recommend me some good podcasts that are offbeat (however you interpret that) and NOT produced by some awful podcasting factory (like the ones listed above)? I’m going through a dry-spell. Lately I’ve been really loving Desert Oracle.

Reader was a failure? You’re a fucking idiot.

Things I never realized I needed to know but yeah - this is so awesome.

Best Lifehacker piece in recent memory. Thanks for the great reminders to do this daily.

It’s The Root. Someone will always go there.
