It's a well thought out piece but the premise is essentially that Messi is still Messi. All the things Messi is described as doing more prominently are things he's always done.

Giroud is the pefect embodiment of Arsenal. Adequate and at times good but nowhere near the level of player that is needed to make the leap to a top, top team. He would not start for any of the teams above Arsenal in the table.

I was waiting for the part where Casillas/Haisley said it was Mourinho's fault.

Jose pointing out the selective memory of the footballing community (again). I bet this is yet another attempt by Jose to assassinate Iker Casillas, right Bill?

Chip Kelly is the bizarro world Buddy Ryan.

One of the rare times you see UEFA use common sense by adding a legit reason to winning the Europa League/Uefa Cup.

Yes Ian Rush, let's remember a player from another era. You're only addressing half of my comment but ok.

Hey Bill, remember when Liverpool was somewhere great players wanted to go to and stay?

It's not that the owners feel they are owed something, it's that they don't think the players deserve anything (except the DP's).

Agreed that the union meekly accepted this proposal. However MLS players, more so than the athletes in the other leagues, don't have that mega salary to cover their time off.

Seeing as Screamer is devoted to the sport of soccer it shouldn't matter to the author of the post whether or not most of the country cares or not.

This is why Tulo can't be traded.

Ok well they've still shipped more goals than United in the league. And remember BR thinks coaching defense is easy.

"Yet another reminder that Liverpool are indeed once again the most entertaining if not the best team in England"

Well said. The Knicks of the 90s never got over the hump but they are beloved for playing the way all NY teams should: skill, effort and grit. Mase along with Oakley personify an era of basketball we are never getting back.

What, no Mourinho angle? Shocked.

It's like watching Man City.

Fair. But Howard's performance along with rest of the defense hasn't improved at all since the start of the season. Roberto Martinez has had a poor season and unless they win the Europa League it will go down as a wasted season for the club.

Roberto Martinez showed at Wigan that defensive football is not his strong suit and we're seeing it again. They took a gamble on spending their entire transfer budget on Lukaku while hoping that the partnership of Distin and Jagielka would hold up for one more season.

You're giving me the JV winners list? Ok.
