You are 100% right.

Anyone who still goes to a Catholic Church and puts money in the collection plate should be ashamed.

Anyone who still goes to a Catholic Church, and puts money in the collection plate, should be ashamed. It’s just supporting a vast criminal enterprise.

Institutions that should be razed:

All six Stones were needed to erase half the universe: each played a part in the process, it couldn’t have been done if even one of the Stones was missing. The roles played by the stones:

I would want this, but not with the parasites. That’s just an excuse to explain away bad behavior and Picard (and Sisko) were well aware of the evils of men and their ability to root out the evil that exist in everyone.

I think it would br more interesting to see a Picard who never sacrificed his ideals and was marginalized and shunned by Starfleet. Picard can still be the heroic figure and still have issues and disillusionment that maybe the Starfleet he believed in might not exist.

Yeah, comparing Luke to Picard is pretty apples and oranges really.  Luke had to learn about morality while Picard was the one teaching everyone how to be a better person by example.

It’s like I said in another article: Nobody nowadays knows how to write a character unless they’re constantly in angst over something.

Now playing

There is nothing a “deconstruction” of Picard could do that hasn’t actually already been done by the show or the movies. Hell, there was nothing in the movies that hadn’t already been done by the show.

My pitch for the new Picard series.

Here is the thing though. Picard pretty much represents the idealized version of what humanity can be in the Star Trek universe. If you “Skywalker” him then you sh*t on Rodenberry’s whole progressive vision of humanity striving to achieve their potential, which is pretty much the whole point of Star Trek.

Look, I’m fine with a Picard that has changed, or grown, but not a disillusioned Picard. 1) I don’t necessarily believe that’s really that compelling of a tale to tell 2) It would be nice to know that the character that you loved, respected, and admired doesn’t become just another beaten down old man.

This is the kind of change we need. Start locally. Expand nationwide. Come on November. Each and every election is important.

How delicate do you have to be to perceive a criticism of establishment activity as an attack on “centrist Democrats”? That the comparison of policy approach to a saltine cracker feels like an insult?

One would think that if they’re approaching this is bad faith, yes.

Oh man, if people are surprised that right wingers consider Columbus to be an “elitist” city, go to literally anywhere in the Midwest and hear their Republican politicians talk about the nearest big metro area. You’ve got no idea how racist the word “Milwaukee” can sound until you’ve heard it coming from some big wet R

Taking a human life is cool, though. WAY more disrespectful to disrupt a wedding than it is to slay another human being. Why, the officer getting married could have his special day of nuptials marred by the very real fact that he ended another sentient creature’s existence! Marred, I say, marred!
